How can Hart botch a coaching hire when he hasn't even hired anyone yet? Good Lord.

Sometimes I think there is nothing but a bunch of 12 year old little girls who love drama that post on here. Please tell me you are 12 and not grown men with families. I'd hate to see how you handle real world issues.

Anyone who thought Gruden was coming here was living in a fantasy world just like his agent said. That was nothing but a pipe dream.

Hart hasn't done nothing wrong...yet. It's all those who worship at "The Church of Gruden" that is ticked off and will remain that way till the end of time no matter what.

Ignorance. It was the fan base that started the hiring of Gruden not Hart. It is the fans that have embarrassed Tenn.

WTF do you expect him to do? Shoot down every delusional theory perpetuated by a website? The Hamilton coaching search was a fiasco with people turning us down left and right. Hart has played it close to the vest as he should. I will judge him on the hire he makes.

he could be moving alittle faster, also he let dooley coach this year which was wrong.

There are still plenty of ex-NFL coaches out there without a job we can get one if that is our main objective. I want a guy that has a great history of recruiting players and also a great coaching record in the college game. That would be Bob Stoops, Chris Petersen, Gary Patterson, and Mike Gundy in that order.

Daddychad, all I ask for is leadership. An AD who leads our program in the right direction and makes a good sound hire. Lack of communication (and leadership) has been a consistent problem with our program and more importably our University for a while. Hart has handled several things wrong so far (i.e. Pat Summitt firing, Debbie Jennings).

If UT had released an unofficial statement earlier to Hyamns, Rucker, or whoever else in the media they use, we as fans could have moved on from Gruden. He doesn't need to come out and answer to every rumor, but he does need to temper expectations somewhat or fans will believe nonsense. By not doing this, a large portion of the fanbase will be disappointed if Gruden isn't hired. IMO.

I don't even want to get started on Hamilton.

The deal was almost sealed and Hart blew it. The truth will ( hopefully) come out.

This, though im not sure about phil as the AD, but if hart screwed this up.. the boosters need to to tell hart to leave the university right now, or they are not donating anymore money to UT..

He already has, get ready for Dooley 2.0 to come aboard. Hart is afraid Gruden will have more power than him. We are officially the joke of the SEC.

There will be no afternoon press conference today for a new football coach at the University of Tennessee, nor was Jon Gruden ever presented with any contract or financial details to become the Volunteers' next football coach. So say sources extremely close to UT's search for Derek Dooley's replacement.

Some half-dozen sources have told VolQuest.com this morning that Gruden both declined an offer to meet with UT officials, most notably vice chancellor and director of athletics Dave Hart, this week and that neither side ever got to a point where a financial framework was outlined.

"We reached out to coach Gruden. Coach Gruden after visiting with his family informed us that it was not a move his family wanted to make at this time. He declined to meet with Tennessee. Financial considerations were never discussed," said a University source Friday morning.

Do you believe everything Volquest throws out there? So they're telling us that Hart has known for over a month that he was going to need a coach and that Gruden was choice #1 but he never discussed money with him? If true, shame on Hart and what the hell has he been doing for the past 30 days!?

I would take Phil as AD in a heartbeat.. whoever president was, I wouldn't care as long as they stayed out of the way of the Athletic Department.

Man WTF? Hart has been a very successful AD wherever he has been. The guy hasn't even hired his first football coach yet and you already want him canned. Why? Because he didn't fire Dooley sooner? Because he didn't get Gruden? Because he's from Alabama? Or because he's not moving at the pace you want him to? People like you are what's wrong with sports. Take a valium and let the man do his job. Give him the time he needs to see if the man he selects is a good fit or not. If he's not, then you can run your mouth. Until then, grab a chair and chillax. :fool:

Gruden's agent said that Jon turned down UT, which if trues means that Hart didn't turn him down like many of you are "speculating". Say what you want about your inside info. 99.9% of you including me don't know $h!t about what's going on because everything is very tight lipped. Hubbs, Rucker, and other media sources that have way better contacts than we do say they haven't heard anything yet besides what came out today from Gruden's agent. So chat all you want but please stop getting worked up over info that you can't truly verify. A wise man builds his case on facts. A foolish man builds his case on emotions.
