Ainge DUI

Sounds like you look down your nose over your bifocals in a really pretentious way.

What if it became the "law" next week that golf is now illegal and anyone carrying so much as a tee is subject to be harassed and shook down just because you match the profile? Stereotyping based on assumed income, the clothes you wear, the car you drive, etc.

Bet your opinion would change.

I have had a few tickets as well... Your comments about golf and my income off based

So making golf illegal, is equal to blood testing DUI suspects?

I hate to say it but Tennessee is turning in to a police state. That is insane.

Is this done at checkpoints I guess?

Just recently had a friend get pulled over and had her blood taken at the site of the stop. She was not worried because she had not been drinking. As you can imagine it takes a week or so to get the results back on the blood test. She goes to court and loses her license and is convicted of DUI not for having alcohol in her system (her BAC was 0%) but because she had 39 nanograms of THC in her blood stream.

So how does a officer initially start a probable cause?

You weaved. Field sobriety test. Oh. Wait you missed a step. Blood test.

Is this for real?

Officer observation of the moving violation (the failure to maintain the lane, in this case) is the probable cause.

The law says when you sign for you're driver's license, you consent to having your blood sample drawn upon officer request following a moving violation.

They technically don't have to even do a field sobriety test. The field sobriety test is done in order to build a record for the DUI charge (via the officer's in-car video) in the event the person pulled over declines to submit to the blood test. Breathalyser is no longer done in most areas, including Knoxville and Knox County.

this isnt true. there were many issues with the breathalyzer but i think many groups have gone back to them. in many states, (dunno about TN anymore b/c i moved) you go to jail for refusing a breathalyzer, regardless of the DUI result. kind of an intimidation to get you to take them. people claim that this is against their rights, but nobody does anything to stop it.

There's no reason to do anything about it. It's a solid policy.

Lol how am I against him? I actually posted about two days ago that I liked his show far better than the morning show on the sports animal, but that the immaturity and off color comments got old. And that he clearly needed to grow up. This has nothing to do with liking Ainge.

So I didn't know that they only due blood tests in Knoxville, I don't live in Knoxville. I do know that an innocent man has no reason to refuse a blood test. Especially an innocent man with a prior history of drug and alcohol problems, who would probably want to ensure his fans knew he was innocent.

Your being judge and jury. You don't know what transpired prior to the blood test. That's why your argument is null and void.

My assumption and argument is innocent until proven guilty. I'm not making assumptions because a person declines a blood test.

I don't know where she was, but the blood test results take about 25 minutes on an officer hold in Knox County. It's completed before a suspect is booked.

If he's guilty, it wasn't a mistake. You can't mistakenly get drunk, mistakenly get in your car, mistakenly turn it on, and mistakenly drive it.

The police may have mistakenly charged him. He may very well be innocent of this charge. But if he did it. He did it on purpose.

This post is an obvious mistake.

Well I'm not moving back to Tennessee. I don't do illegal drugs or drink and drive, but will be damned if I'm forced to consent to something based on a guy who could have had a bad day.

once again there are no breathalyzers in my town anymore. You are submitted to a blood test and that is that. If you fail field sobriety test you go to jail.

Thanks mommies for ruining mostly everything fun. Blood test should be unconstitutional.

I was simply claiming that it's a good policy to lock up anyone who declines to take a breathalyzer, blood test, or field sobriety test. It's a much better policy than simply handing them their keys and telling them to have a good night.

OT. I got step family there.

Step dads side. Never been. Plan to visit sometime though.

Maybe you forgot to rotate your tires on the Prius ?
