Ainge going off on Graham!

Don't know if this info has already been posted here as I did not read all the posts, but Erik Ainge on his show did talk about an interesting reason that CJG left. He said that CJG wanted to be the recruiting coordinator. EA said that CBJ didn't want to give him that title, felt like he hadn't earned it, but did offer him the same amount of money that FSU did. Honestly CJG has a history of moving around from school to school. It just stings more because he's a former player.

He didn't say TN did. The original post (that's been addressed 3 times now) incorrectly said FL had a state income tax.

Thanks Joe...I've been gliding through this thread...real late in my responses

I've said VFL is the biggest crock of $hit. More and more players prove it. Players go places because they like the coach and enjoy the free ride. But when they leave, the meal ticket stops and it's just another place to most.

Graham may have been a good RB's coach. Bet there are many better out there though. Getting one here is the question though. Graham was our least experienced coach and if he wouldn't have played here this wouldn't be such a hot topic

It's just a catch phrase, and I'm sure that it will die off in a few years.

I'm sorry Graham left but there's no need to sweat the loss of a RB coach. Jones does need to fill his spot with a FIRST-RATE recruiter--that much I know. Jones has a history with Azzani, and Graham didn't. Graham could have worked to show his value, but chose to leave. Is he recruiting coordinator at fsu?

VFL is something created for the fans and that's about it. In the real world, former players who get into coaching are going to go where they want to and feel is best for their career.

Some fans need to quit being so naive.

He left because he made a career choice. Believe it or not people, but there are more important things for people outside of the UT football program. Making a career move was obviously more important than coaching at his alma mater, as it should be.

then maybe he should earn the RC title instead of just demanding it

I can't find anywhere that states he has demanded it. Maybe you have inside sources. I don't. Either way, I personally think he deserved it. He certainly didn't deserve to be as low on the pay scale as he was. People that are butt hurt over him leaving are reaching for something to be pissed off about.

Perhaps EA changed his opinion of JG with more information? Usually how it happens. Plus, as has been stated a billion times so far, they offered him 300k, or a 75k raise since he's been on the staff for all of 3 months. That would make 2 times that CBJ tried to keep him here- JG just didn't want to be here. He's gone, lets move on.

I don't know the inner workings of what took place. I'm sure there is more to it than any of us know (or pretend to know). At any rate, it's not a huge loss for UT. Dude can recruit, but he can be replaced.

I'm with you if jg made the comment about never leaving SC... something is wrong on the inside.. IMO... Jg knows how a winning program should feel like n for some reason he doesn't believe we r headed in the right direction or he doesn't like hart or new coach or would have stayed ..

So it's everyone else's fault and not JGs fault? There is just no way that Graham is not as loyal to UT as people want to believe ?

Students go to Universities to prepare them to get work in lots of places. Can't fault players for going to work at lots of places.

The big news is that Basilio will stop pausing awkwardly and will fix his audio so it doesn't sound like he's broadcasting from a bathroom stall.

The pauses are pretty considerate of him considering where he is broadcasting from.

Then this makes Tennessee truly just a stepping stone for coaches. The only coach that I can truly say was in it for the team was Chaney. Blast me or not ... he was here no matter who the coach was and done the job to the best of his ability.

So people are upset because Graham wanted to make more money and provide for his family. Who is to say that Graham and his style of play was a good fit for our new offense. Graham taught more power running and we are going to be a spread offense.

Because you can't provide for your family on 250-300 thousand a year.

Basilio stating that Jay left because he was upset at the amount of good players they weren't allowed to recruit due to Cheek's restraints.

He'll being paying much more out in the state of FL, mostly due to the state income tax there. He just wanted an easier place to recruit and coach, and just didn't mesh with this staff's blue collar attitude. Much more of a workman's mentality on this staff now, kinda like Kiffin, just with their shirts on and less glitter and flare.

Sorry if someone else already responded, but I don't believe that there is a state income tax in FL.
