I've already gotten over JG leaving. If he want's to leave to not even be a RB coach at FSU then let him go.

The important part is hiring a guy who can coach our RBs to the extent of their abilities and build relationships in this upcoming year with recruits in Graham's area.

If its true that he left even with a matching offer from HIS ALMA MATER then...Jay who?!?! Should have never left SC?!?! I dont think we know the whole story...we cant.

I'm with you if jg made the comment about never leaving SC... something is wrong on the inside.. IMO... Jg knows how a winning program should feel like n for some reason he doesn't believe we r headed in the right direction or he doesn't like hart or new coach or would have stayed ..

Really? That's a lot of inference and supposition stated as fact.

Speculation. I don't think that is the reason. I think a lot of people were upset when Jay was unable to land any of our running back targets for the two years he was here. We need to recruit at least two RB of the caliber Jay was unable to get. Whatever. He i gone and we will get another RB coach. Maybe the new coach can get us the talent we need move up in the SEC.

This has been my thoughts all along. We had this love fest for CJG but we really need at least one of those quality backs that Jay was not able to recruit. As far as the money thing and relating it to Jon Gruden hire that boat has sailed for ever leave it alone for goodness sake.... It was never going to happen in the first place. Let's all act like adults and get a running backs coach an move on.

So people are upset because Graham wanted to make more money and provide for his family. Who is to say that Graham and his style of play was a good fit for our new offense. Graham taught more power running and we are going to be a spread offense.

1. Reports are that UT matched offer to keep him. 300k in Fla is the same as 300k in Tn - no income tax either state. 2. He's coaching running backs- what style? How hard is it? You teach how to run hard, don't fumble, pass protection. If he can't adjust to a particular style then how good/valuable is he as a coach?

Not accurate if what you say about housing being cheap there...it is by far the biggest category.

I don't think he wanted to put the work in, jmo.

I agree with the putting the work in part, especially considering the attitude Jones has compared to Dooley.

What had they been doing at South Carolina?

Ordinarily, yes.

But this was a former player, a guy who, in the middle of the Dooley Debacle, actually improved his unit, and who, it seems, actually held our recruiting class together when Dooley quit recruiting. The current Big East staff is short on quality SEC recruiters, and they are now down one more.

Also, it has to be a reflection on the new coach and new staff as well.

I think one of the most important stories of this episode though is that the Cryptkeeper would not match $50K. Begging Booger for funds so you don't have to hire Gruden...

Hart needs a seat on a trebuchet aimed right at Alabama.

It "has to be"? Really? Asinine statement.

I'd believe Ainge's mom before Basilio. He actually has direct contact and doesn't create an X character to appear to know what's going on

After his Gruden antics I'm surprised Basilio still has a job. His credibility is shot with me. He knew what he was doing.

EA's pissed, said JG quit because he was scared...definitely wants to pull his VFL card!

Big change from yesterday...

Yeah, or maybe he didn't appreciate being the second lowest-paid member of the staff or not receiving the position of recruiting coordinator. Ainge is trolling.

Again, not the point. He's an alum, who relished at the opportunity to come back and coach. Sure, he is replaceable, just like any coach we have, but it's the fact that he's an alum and given all the lip service he provided while he was here, seemed like he was very happy and content at his alma mater. That's why people feel slighted, not because of the position he coached.

People don't know what went down behind the scene and are making wild speculations, one way or the other.

Speculation 1: Jay Graham is a money-mongering whore.
Speculation 2: Jay Graham was an incredibly loyal VFL that was mistreated.
Speculation 3: The staff mismanaged and let him go.
Speculation 4: This is a failure by the current staff/administration.

then maybe he should earn the RC title instead of just demanding it

You are correct. I'm completely wrong on that one. Either way, cost of living is MUCH higher down there. Of course, he can get a house rather cheap down there right now.

Cost of living is not more expensive there. Think you missed that point too.

The meltdown over the departure of a running back coach, the easiest position to fill on a staff, is beyond belief

Throwing a former player under a bus in defense of a 2nd tier coach who has run off two present former players from coaching here is beyond belief.
