Alex Poythress

I've said from the beginning that Vandy was a major player. I still stand by that and feel that he ends up there. Mom wants her boy to get a quality education.

Mom and Dad want the boy to be in Blue and Grey. I think vandy has the proximity factor working in it's favor, that's it. Poythress is a 2-3 year and on to the NBA type of talent. He's not graduating from college anytime soon.

Still hearing Memphis is the team to beat with Vandy very close to take over that top spot.

Thanks for the info guys. I believe it's Memphis but I had heard an outrageous rumor that said he was gator-bound.

Parker is a 5 and is closer to 6'10".

Stokes and Goodwin could swap out the 4 and 5 and Stokes could probably even play the 3.

Stokes, Goodwin, and Poythress are all 6'8. You said you could see all of them committing. I find that absurd.

Thought that you were talking about Parker/Goodwin/Stokes, which would make more sense.

Poythress is a 3, through and through, too skinny to make a good 4. Shaq is a physical 4, doesn't really have the skills to play the 3. Stokes is a hybrid, really akin to Tobias Harris.

They can all easily co-exist on the same team and would probably all see the floor together.

Poythress is listed as a PF. I'd be willing to bet anything that he only plays the 4 right now. Playing these guys out of position only creates problems. Poythress might have the offensive game to play the three, and then he might not. It'd be a real struggle for him to guard a 6'4 3. The same goes for Stokes. The same went for Tobias Harris. He didn't really have the offensive ability to play the three; his game was suited for the 4, and he couldn't effectively guard the 3.

Taking a bunch of guys simply because they have high star ratings and playing them in positions that don't accentuate their talents fails more times than it succeeds.

Poythress is a 3. Watch him play and tell me otherwise.

PaulBiancardi Paul Biancardi
That would be incredible ! “@BFlinnBball: @PaulBiancardi Poythress could be the next to join the Tigers this week.”

I think you just believe what you want to believe. His high school video could show him doing nothing but posting up and you'd pretend he's a 3. Fact is, he's listed as a power forward and plays power forward. To think he's going to go from guarding high school posts to guarding smaller, faster, better college wings on the perimeter and it just be a seamless transition is incredibly stupid.
