One of these days they'll realize the rich pay zero taxes. All they do is collect taxes from the pawns and give it to the government, at a markup. Raise taxes on McDonald's, the companies tax increase equates to $.25 cost on a big Mac, they raise the price of the big Mac, $.35. All raising taxes does is cause inflation.

Honestly, I generally post that there are only two real solutions. Have everyone insured or the ones who can't afford it die. In no way do I think the poor should just die. What I think you would see if we did away with mandatory care and the possibility of a provider letting you die if you can’t pay is most people without insurance giving up a few 6 packs or smokes and getting at least a catastrophic plan. It might just promote a little personal responsibility.

Should we just abolish all medical care since mistakes are a leading cause of death? I bet if you told everyone who needs surgery, but can't afford it that they might die by medical mistake, they would still take it.

On a side note, that is wonderful for your father, but he is and I expect you know an exception. One point we can agree on is medical waste, a lot of that has to do with defensive medicine which is made worse by the private dominated system we have.

2) Cut you open. Results? May help, may not do anything, may hurt.

That is all that modern medicine can do for you.

Honestly, I think we may come from way too different generations to relate. I have had three people I know of who would have died without modern medicine and I have never seen any of them with negative side effects from those or other procedures.

….and my brother and about 10 friends have died a long, torturous, gruesome death at the hands of cancer doctors. They probably would have died anyway, but the medical professionals got filthy rich off their suffering, so there's that. I firmly believe that 90% of doctoring is unnecessary. Her changes state you could sit on your ass and get the same benefits as someone working 80 hours a week. You have no argument. Her and everything she represents is pure idiocy/lunacy.
