All things health: nutrition, exercise, etc

Add acv to your diet and it will help you burn calories faster...serious.

Doubtful. I never felt any of the "thermogenic" effects. And I didn't experience any weight loss advantages, but that's hard to track.

There is no published evidence that it affects the alkalinity of your body, either. Our body's alkalinity isn't easily affected.

In fact, there are no published studies for any of the claimed benefits or ingredients except the weight loss benefits of acetic acid. Those test results were inconclusive.

Prolly cuz you drink it cold, just sayin...

So my mom does the vinegar thing but she is also following the Blood Type Diet. She lost the belly she's had for the past 40 years and stopped snoring. She's only about 5'1" and maybe 110lbs but used to be the loudest snorer in the house until she started that diet.

Just finished yoga 90X.

I also think Good health is 70% what you eat and 30% exercise.

I love that yoga video. I sweat more in that workout than any other in the whole routine. But when it's over I feel relaxed and ready to get the day going. It's just so long. I generally end up doing the moving asanas then skipping around a bit.

And I agree about the 70% diet. I highly reccomended the movie Forks over Knives (as in surgical knives). It's on Netflix for those that have it.

In all seriousness though, I'm a big believer in juicing and do it quite often. I feel completely different when I'm drinking 2 to 3 different juices a day. Good stuff.

I don't think you're supposed to talk about steroids on here man. Just a heads up..

I started Jan 2011 to lose weight and become healthy. I did it for myself, my wife and my son. I wanted to make sure I was around for them as long as possible. I ended losing a total of 55 lbs in about 7 months. I started running and eating healthier. I eat six times a day, lots of fruit and portion control. I am running four to five times a week. As far is supplements go, I haven't taken anything other than vitamins until about a week ago. I started taking Accerlade to help with recovery after runs. So far I can tell its helping.

I love the way I feel now much better than being over weight and lazy. Sure it's not easy having to eat healthy and exercise but the way I feel is well worth the effort and work put in.

Wow thats really good. I remember after i started eating healthy religiously the first time i ate fast food after a couple months. I went to chick fil a and had the runs just from a grilled chicken sandwich. I love the way it feels to be in shape congrats and keep it up.

We went to IHOP for lunch yesterday. There were five twenty-somethings that came in. Looked like they had just woke up from the lake. lol Total party kids it seems to hear them talk about the drinking they did the night before. Then one of them starts talking about an egg white omelet and explaining to the others the benefits of eating healthy. It was a pretty cool conversation to listen to.

I try to eat from the periphery of the grocery store - fresh veggies, fruits, lean meats, eggs, skim milk, Greek yogurt, nuts, etc... Carbs are usually whole grains... Stay away from processed foods and refined sugars. No sugared drinks. Works for me and is an enjoyable diet.

Thanks! I try to give myself one cheat day a week to eat almost anything I want. I have a found that it helps me stay on my diet. I have also found that at the end of that cheat day I feel awful. I feel lazy and my stomach is usually upset or feels uneasy.

From the years of research my father did when I was wrestling, he seemed to believe Acai Berry exract and Cod liver oil were the two best supplements on the market. They are simply amazing, ask your doctor.

My kids jiujitsu instructor is from Brazil and asks me every week if my kids are drinking Acai berry juice.

If only I would eat healthier again... Anyone have healthy meal options for a guy that can't cook? I get plenty of exercise as I race road and mountain bikes. I'm at 230-ish, and that's not nearly light enough to be a competitive cyclist.
