Alvin Kamara arrested in Las Vegas for Assault

Did they know ? It said he wasnt arrested until after the game
Report came out that the NFL actually was informed he was a suspect in a felony battery (which gives some clarification on the charges) before the game.

Nevada battery charge
Penalties under NRS 200.481

The defendant did not use a deadly weaponIf the victim sustained substantial bodily harm in Nevada or was strangled, battery is a category C felony in Nevada:

  • 1 – 5 years in prison, and
  • up to $10,000 (at the judge’s discretion)
Otherwise, battery is a misdemeanor in Nevada:
  • up to 6 months in jail, and/or
  • up to $1,000
So worst case he is looking at first offender 10k fine and probation

They care about it for contract negotiation reasons. It and the recognition of getting voted in for it can be and is used by said players as a measure of worth when it comes to negotiating with NFL teams during free agency or renegotiations with their current team.

They might not compete in it like they do during the season, but they and the other players would fight tooth and nail to make sure it sticks around to keep their contract offers from being lessened,
Sure, being selected which comes from performance in real games is a big deal.

The game itself is useless. Their performance in the game is inconsequential.

With college, that's arguably why the Senior Bowl or another individually chosen bowl matters more than a team bowl. A great player on a crap team needn't worry about his team's 3rd tier bowl if he's selected for a "pro scout" bowl.

People who fight over being “disrespected” are the biggest idiots imaginable
Yeah. Especially when you’re rich and have a good life. laugh and walk away. Go home screw your girl in your nice house and then play a little ps5/Xbox
It’s like what do you need to prove? You proved what you about by your life status

Your "live status" doesn't prove what you are about--your actions do.

Yeah sounds bad. that being said it sounds like something was going on before the camera footage started. In any case, Alvin needs to take a deep look into those he surrounds himself with and how much he exposes himself to bad situations. When u Make money like that you should never be out exposed like that. Folks are gonna test you hoping for an outcome like this. The dude probably was laying on the ground seeing dollar signs instead of stars. every punch and kick made a ka-ching sound. I do think its ironic they say he only could describe one of his assailants.. Kamara... He couldn't describe the ugly one? Also the 5k bail makes me think its probably not as bad as some might think (the charges he is facing). That sounds more like high misdemeanor bail to me.

All jokes aside. Alvin needs to take this as a lesson and focus on playing football.
I challenge you to find a square inch in a Vegas nightclub (bathrooms excluded) that isn’t under 24/7 video surveillance.

….and, once again, I love the classless insinuation that this guy was looking for a beat down.

Initial reports seem to suggest Alvin and 3 others initiated physical contact with victim. Proceeded to beat him unconscious, curb stomp him, and break his eye socket. If this occurred in an elevator, as reported, there likely is video evidence.

If accurate, this appears to be felony-level stuff with 1-5 years behind bars.

Both shocking and sad given AK's otherwise sterling record.

Per Yahoo Sports:

"Kamara punched the man approximately eight times, according to the police report, while the three men with Kamara stomped on the man’s face, chest and legs a total of more than 20 times.

Police said the incident began when Kamara put his hand on the man’s chest to stop him from entering the elevator, the man pushed the football player’s hand away, a person with Kamara punched the man, and Kamara “immediately attacked."

When police asked Kamara why he punched the man, “Kamara indicated he thought (the man) was running away and had done something to his group so he chased and punched (him) several times,” a police detective said in the report.

Kamara also told police he remembered the man calling one of his friends ugly and later threatening to “whoop” someone."

So Kamara admits to police the guy was trying to avoid the situation by running away, and that he chased him down and beat the dog s**t out of him.

Moronic.

But he called one of AK’s friends ugly, so therefore he deserves to be beat within an inch of his life according to Kamara

Kamara was a great guy, then he started hanging out on that Bama sideline and looks what happens. It's my opinion that anytime 4 guys attack one dude...well they're all pieces of ****. That's not a accusable action in my opinion. Two years no parole minimum. But Randy Moss wiggled out of the same thing in high school so who knows.

What AK said doesn't really make sense. I'll need video like everyone else.
But why would he think the guy had done something to someone in his group and was trying to get away when he was right there? Should be obvious if he had done something. AK put his hand on the guys chest to stop him from entering the elevator and the guy pushed his hand away and that's basically when the fighting start.
What mostly likely happened was guy had been drinking, called AK friend, probably GF ugly. Few words were said. Guy said he'd whoop AK and his boys.
AK and group left, guy still talking and tried to get on the elevator with them and now here we are. AK problem was joining in.
He would've been good if all he had done was put his hand to the guys chest to stop him, he could've said hey guy was drunk, we tried leaving, he tried entering the elevator with us and i stopped him and told him to take the next one so that things didn't continue to get heated. He pushed my hand away and I guess my boys thought he was about to attack me but I stayed back or left...

Alvin and the Chipmunks acted like animals. You know the videos you've seen of 3-4 lions that catch, kill and eat some hapless antelope, kinda like that except they weren't living in the wild and operating in survival mode..

IMO, humans are no different than we were 5,000 - 10,000 years ago. But hey, at least now we're better educated, have really cool toys and social media....

Here's to progress folks......

I've thought for some time that the Pro Bowl should be moved to preseason - Hall of Fame week or the first week of preseason at the latest.

Good points. Presume there were blood samples taken from the victim... wonder about the others.
