Amateur Hour Continues

I commented on the tank aspect, wasn't intended do be a contradiction. Not much to do with sour feelings, as you suggested. But honesty, yeah thinking about the whole deal, It does make me feel a bit sour, so I'll apologize for being overly snippy.

And I do wish you a merry little 4th of July, in spite of your silly notion that I wouldn't.
No worries, man.

I really try to not take anything personally or hold any ill will towards any poster.

...except for @DancingOutlaw who sux bigly.

That is such stupid nonsense. Only a President who has respect for authoritarian regimes and their public displays of military might, would insist on parading tanks through our nation's capital on Independence Day. Trump is an embarrassment to our norms and values. This is Trump tipping his cap to Kim Jong Un. Unbelievable.
I'm looking at this from a different perspective. How often does the general public get to see a tank up close? Maybe Trump is doing it for all the wrong reasons, I don't really know, but I find the idea of tanks rolling in the parade kind of cool. It's like getting to see a fighter jet up close. There's a fascination there at seeing these things up close with your own eyes.

Sometimes people choose to be outraged just to be outraged. Obviously I don't speak for everyone, but I've always had a fascination with seeing things like tanks or jets or other military machines up close. Maybe it stems from being a Navy brat who got to run around ships with my dad. Who knows? But I'm sure there will be plenty of people who get a kick out of seeing these tanks. There will also be people who take it as another excuse to be outraged over something.

...and there will also be people who are far from outraged, but still think it's very silly and unnecessary for the United States to be parading tanks through DC. It is the sort of display that countries who don't have much going for themselves economically (such as Russia and North Korea) tend to feel is necessary to earn respect around the world.

Ever been to an air show? Ever had the chance to tour an aircraft carrier or any other navy ship? Trump's intentions could be completely wrong, and I'm sure many people will claim they are, but I find a tank endlessly more fascinating than a parade float. What's the entire point of a parade to begin with? If you're against public displays, maybe you're just against parades to begin with? Tanks rolling in a parade just seems like a ridiculous thing to be outraged over. Are you planning on being outraged by the Baby Trump balloon as well, or are you saving your outrage just for tanks?

All the things going on in this world and people want to bitch about tanks. So stupid.

It is silly to compare an air show to parading tanks through city streets ... It's not the same thing either in terms of logistics or in the message conveyed. Once again, it's the sort of thing that you see authoritarian regimes doing, who have something to prove to the rest of the world.

Once again, it's in the interpretation you choose to accept. In your mind, it's Trump, so it has to be bad. If Obama had done it, you'd be okay with it. It's such a stupid thing to be outraged over. This is truly an example of "But Trump". You may not like it, but there will be people who enjoy it. But of course you can't let that go. You have to make a big deal about a parade. Think about it, it's just a damn parade. But you're making it out to be something much more monumental. No one is going to be hurt by this.

Don't the fancy ones have a rather nondescript exterior? All the good stuff (if you could understand it) is inside.
I think you're correct. I want to see one up close because they're much bigger than what they appear in pics/video.

I have to agree with you on this. It’s probably not how I’d organize a parade, but I mean.... it’s just a meaningless (in the grand scheme of things) parade.

It’s pretty close to criticizing his choice of condiment, IMO.

You are out of your damn mind if you dont think that a parade celebrating the independence of our nation from Britain, through means of arms and sacrifice, would be cool to show some tanks. Kids love seeing them as well as any former military...you know, former and current military actually care about our country's independance and children are too young to be indoctrinated into the dumbassery that is the lefts politics.

also,

1) How you can be mad at the president for this shows just how much TDS you have.....you are a little lamb for the "progressive" left. I hope you are proud of yourself.
2) I told my 3 year old that you wanted to take tanks out of our parade and this is what he did:
