Amateur Hour Continues

Don't be melodramatic. I've been to nearly every other destination in the caribbean and Cuba was one of the last ones left. Regardless of how you feel about their politics, there are many beautiful places there to visit and experience. I'm sure a few conservatives here who bemoan the socialism in Europe still enjoyed vacation there. Give me a break.

At least you know the government obtained an important objective by preventing you from going to Cuba.

I enjoyed Cuba. You know that there were categories for Cuban travel ... the educational one doesn't include beaches except the ones you see from a bus; however, if you like ruins, Cuba is the place for you. You are right there are some beautiful buildings there, but only a few like the opera house and the capitol building (or foreign owned hotels and embassies and homes) are really more than shells or a lot of patchwork. What is hard to accept as you travel around is what Cuba could be, and how astounding those ruins must have been before socialism. The other interesting thing is that outside the country, where you will likely see more crops on wagons pulled by mules than on trucks, is just how few people are actually working on anything. Another interesting thing ... we left from Cienfuegos; and if you are aware, you will see guards patrol the far side of the runway to prevent stowaways ... something I've never seen before.

The only place that I've seen comparable to Cuba was East Berlin a year or so after the wall came down, but there was a lot of construction going on there ... and the people in East Berlin were definitely happier campers than people in West Berlin. Sure I've enjoyed travel in Europe, but I'm also aware that their socialism works because we help pay for it ... reconstruction of Europe after their last tiff and by providing significantly for their defense.

That is some impressive leadership right there! Don't talk to anyone or explain anything... Just run the government via Twitter and keep everybody guessing! LOL!

Product of our own doings ? Maybe if we didn’t give platforms like Twitter and FB so much power and relevance there would be a need to do things differently . Idk

I'm thinking the President of the United States has more efficient means of communicating with the Department of Justice than through social media and that the American public will only ever witness chaotic events such as this while Trump is in office, because he is indeed, one of a kind. This has nothing to do with what we (the American people) give power and relevance to. This has to do with a man who is very impulsive by nature and prone to spontaneous course changes with no thought to how his rapid shifts will impact the ability of those who work underneath him to do their jobs. I would describe Trump's use of Twitter as impulsive, undisciplined and even a little lazy. It is certainly not strong, organized, well-planned, self-assured and decisive leadership from a man who has confidence in what he is doing.

Not to be that guy , but ... your wrong here . Tanks and “ other “ military equipment get moved all the time over the road . Trust me on this subject . Lol

I’ve literally seen a Buffalo MRAP/detection vehicle get stuck under an overpass. There is a reason why 80% of the time Bradley’s and Abrams are move via railhead and not flatbed. No one wants to end up on Army WTF.

BS. Did I miss the reparations Iran paid for seizing our embassy and holding our people hostage? Sorry, Iran forfeited anything tangible on US soil at that time.

The Congressional Research Service, the nonpartisan analytic arm of Congress, reviewed this cash transfer in a 2018 report. It gave a total of $1.7 billion.

That was the amount that U.S. and Iranian negotiators settled on to resolve an arms contract between the United States and Iran that predated the Iranian revolution in 1979. Iran had paid for military equipment, and it was never delivered.”

Then the people transporting them were idiots . There’s a reason why heavy haulers have state approved routes and permits with high pole escorts .
