America: The Future

And again, I say nobody claimed it has. But that doesn't stop the social conservative crowd from trying, or using that reasoning.

Regardless, it still doesn't change the fact that you are talking out of both sides of your mouth right now. See your own two posts for proof....

ie...God should be the only one who decides who lives and dies, therefore I am pro-life...but the reasoning behind getting pro-life legislation passed isn't on behalf of the Bible.

I am sure you will be really excited if gov't run health care passes, then our tax dollars can pay for abortions.

What a cute little non-response, change of topic here.

If you're looking for a government run HC proponent, you're barking up the wrong tree with me.

Where did I say this? I said what legislation has been passed? And the answer is zero, abortion is available to anyone who wants it, whenever and no matter how many times.

Maybe so but I am sure you really like the idea of tax payer funded abortion.

are you also claiming that no one is trying to get such legislation passed?

So what is your official position then? Do social conservatives try to get legislation passed based on religious principles?

No one one from the gov't crowd can explain why they hate freedom.

Freedom is every thing and as a country we give up our lives to gov't, why?

There is no such thing as a seperation of church and state, it does not exsist.
No one is forcing religion on anyone, we have a right to religion not a right from religion.

And what do you base this opinion on?

Somethings are not always black and white, right or wrong!!

There is such thing as seperation of church and state and the biggest supporters are religious groups.

Why?

Because they understand that if the government gets involved, then the government could dictate what religion you practice, if at all. Russia outlawed religion under Communism. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, these countries dont allow for religious freedom and Islam is dictated by law.

It is there to protect us from the government. So what is the desire for the Christian Coalition to open the door for government intervention on a solely religious matter?

The only religion problem is from the secular humanists who think the state, the central government should be the god of the people and value the communist manifesto more than the Constitution.

And that is the main reason the future of this country as we have known it looks bleak.

I care about this issue on a personal level, but it is not something that I, as a right wing, uber conservative, and a CHRISTIAN, think the government should regulate.

Politicians rally the troops, on both sides, for only one reason.....votes.

are you also claiming that no one is trying to get such legislation passed?

No that is not what I am claiming. My point is that no matter how much us social conservatives want legislation passed it is not and will not be passed. Abortion is legal to every woman who wants one at the drop of a hat. Gay marriage has been overturned by the voters in every state it has been put up for a vote, it has not been voted down by politicians.

I want you to show me where there is a seperation. I do not support the gov't forcing a religion on people, but by having the 10 Commandments in a court room or in a public place is not forcing religion on anyone.

This past Tuesday Beck had one of the first Bibles ever printed in the US in English on his show, you want to know who printed it? Congress. Why they printed it? For a school.

The way I see it majority rules. This country is overwhelmingly Christian, but I also support people's right to worship whoever or whatever they want to.

You make very valid points but again I said it is an idea that protects Christians from the government. The early churches did not want the fledgling government to tell them how, when, where, and to whom they worshipped. They had fought that battle in England and France before coming to America.

To rebuttal

1)Has the United States Government ever stated that Southern Baptist was the religion of this country? Catholicism?

2)Robert Aiken printed that Bible in 1782, after petitioning Congress to fund the printing because no English version were available of the King James Version in America, other than those imported from England. It was not printed for a school. Beck is wrong!! It is the only time in history that Congress has done such a thing. One time doesnt mean they are establishing a religion. Plus, the King James Version is used by 90% of Christian based faiths.

3)When the majority is Athiest, what will you say then?

I know the answer to 3: He'll say, let the states decide! And then the (redivided) majority will again rule. He would continue this until it got down to a subdivision/neighborhood level, and then he'll wonder whatever happened to freedom. He will conclude that some liberal "took it" from him.

EDIT: When I replied your 3. said Muslim, but that doesn't really change anything in my response I suppose.

If Muslims wanted something from the Koran displayed in a court room, would you support that?

That's interesting. Did he cite a source or do you have a link that has more information about that? I've never heard that before.

The gov't has not ever said a certain religion was the religion of the country, and that is a good thing. I want everyone to be able to worship any God they want or no God.

We are endowed by our creator and get our rights from God, we are a Christian country with the freedom to practice any religion you want.

To 3, this country will never be majority of Athiest or any other religion other than Christianity, but if it did I still believe majority rules.

I refuse to submit to the ACLU types that want any and all symbols of God and religion completely out of our lives. Tell me what is behind the 9 Supreme Court Justices and tell me where our laws originate from.
