At today's White House campaign event Trump accused the Pentagon leadership of seeking out war as a way to enrich defense contractors, and then he opined once again about how awful John McCain was and how much he loved war. Yeah, he loved it so much he refused to be released from a Vietnamese prison camp where he was tortured unless his fellow prisoners were released first.

We know he's already used the exact same language about the top ranks of the military, which prompted Tillerson to call him an "F'n Moron." This isn't even an extraordinary story based on what Trump has already shown us. It would be shocking for any other POTUS, but not Trump.

The only one I can think of is John Quincy Adams. I was a Mayor Pete fan during the primaries, but he clearly needs more experience to resonate with a wider audience. Perhaps when he's the Secretary of State under Biden that'll lend him good fortune come 2028.
