Amnesty Bill SHOT DOWN!!!

You call allowing a million people in annually (just on visas and not including the two million a year let in legally) a small amount? Ok… Oh yeah, you still haven’t answered my question from earlier. Last year congress passed legislation approving an additional 800 miles of border fence. To date only 13 miles has been completed. So, are we really going to believe a do nothing congress again? Who do they think we are? Oh that’s right, stupid Americans they can con while protecting the interests of foreign conglomerates and cheap labor. Bravo my beautiful elected officials! Bravo!

P.S. Have you read all 900+ pages? Are you willing to swear on the Vols that you have?

Small amount of those under the guest worker program as opposed to how many apply? Make sure you read before commenting.

I answered your question. Clearly you are unfamiliar with the process of bids in government. Read up on that. Considering the bill was passed last fall, I see nothing out of the ordinary that a fraction of the wall is built. Read up on how government works and then you won't credit this to "do nothing". Perhaps you should go attack those you now defend for only bringing up 700 miles of a 2,100 mile border.

I have not read everything on every page. I have read most of these items and know that what you label as amnesty is a fraction of the overall bill. If you'd take the time to even read that small little section (not asking you to read all 900 pages) you'd see this is far from amnesty. But again, saying you'd read it and still after repeated challenges seeing you haven't makes me wonder why even bother bringing it up.

Well, I think I will switch back to english, for everyone else's sake.

The short answer to your question is yes, but I do not really have the time to delve further. I will say that basically I think that as long as their intentions are good, which I would like to think most are, I do not mind their coming here.

Ok well shouldn't there at least be some sort of English immersion program? They are only selling themselves short by not learning OUR language. I would like to move to Italy but I can't make them take me and learn English. Why should it be any different for them?

I am not banking "solely" on the fence to save us. But before we start talking about letting 20+ million people stay here indefinitely shouldn't we secure the border? Or should we just leave it open and let the next Mohammad Atta in?

I'm not sure where you get that 20 million people are staying here indefinitely. Stop listening to talk radio and think for yourself. Read the bill.

I don't think people are comfortable with the new z-visa category for one thing.

Or it can also be reasonable for a person to want the borders secured before you write me a 900 page do all, end all piece of legislation acting like you have fixed everything. We are in a "global war on terror", are we really? Politicians can't even make a decent attempt to secure the homeland during this war? And I am supposed to think they have written some piece of magic that will set things straight. No thanks.

Um, the next Atta could easily use a ladder to climb over the fence or again use legal means to get in the country. But my bad, that fence will save us all.

I am reading it! I am only on page 456 though! :lolabove:

Dude, you need to see what this fence looks like.:lolabove: You really have no clue. Let me go look for a picture.:post-4-1090547912:

Yes, and you have certainly pointed out where people have said fence only. But why let that stop you since you are so into facts.

Dude, do you have any clue what type of fence we are talking about? No you surely do not. The fence that was supposed to be built was a double fence that the most determined commandos would have trouble with. Get real, the whole "oh they will just have a latter" is a cheap tactic that is completely baseless! Your dog wouldn't get anywhere. Oh yeah at 3 million dollars a mile the fence is hardly "cheap."

Really? SHow me what fence you're referring to because the one that is funded has been built elsewhere and people are getting through. And that 13 miles already built on a 2,100 mile border? Sorry pal. But at that rate, your hopes of the fence will be out the door. They could empty ALL of Latin America at that rate. Cheap in quality and not quantity. And $6.3 billion dollars for something that leaves Canada and all sea coasts wide open in the meantime....wow. Sound investment.

OLD FENCE that our do nothing Feds built a century ago.

Who said it would fix everything? Who's acting like that? Assuming again?

And you say politicians can't even make a decent attempt to secure the borders but you're happy with keeping that status quo....ok.

That's a lie dude. The new fence is a double fence that is nearly impregnable. Oh and the reason only 13 miles have been built was pointed out by you earlier. We have a do nothing federal government and a do nothing congress. If we can build a nuclear bomb (with the help of Tennessee I might ad) in 4 years we can build a simple fence in one.

OK. Secure the border. How do we do that? How do we amazingly come up with more law enforcement and materials to do this? Please tell how we accomplish this.

You said I lied and you were going to find the new fence. Illegals are finding ways around the new fences. In Laredo, TX they are walking through fences built a few months ago.

So if you didn't like this bill that means you are ok with the status quo? That makes no sense. You are a trip. Our assumption rates run about even.

Yeah, let's see your dog get over that!

Dogs don't fly over fences. They dig under. But why doesn't it surprise me you'd think otherwise. Google the Minuteman project and fences. Look at some pictures. They've found tunnels under the new fences. Take a look at that picture. Do you know how easy it is to dig UNDER those fences?

Well for starters instead of spending BILLION AND BILLIONS AND POSSIBLY TRILLIONS ON THESE ILLEGALS we can simply build the most secure fence in the world. Why is that such a hard concept? For a nation as advanced as ours (oh that’s right, we’re a super power) a fence should not be so difficult.

Offer a solution. I've asked you how you'd solve it. And the generic enforce laws on the books doesn't cut it since that clearly cannot be done.

Well if our congress did what they said they would and put the seismic sensors under there it wouldn't be a problem. Oh and how come none of the murderous militants in the Gaza strip get through? Except that one time, in which they used high yield explosives.

Why would it be important that I know how to accomplish something just because I know that something needs to be done. I know the plane needs to get off the ground when we are speeding down the runway. But for some odd reason, I let the aerospace engineers figure the details out for me.

Can you back that up somehow? I mean if that is true I would like to know but I can't just take your word for it. Forgive me.:)

If the old laws can't be enforced, what's the point of passing new laws?

You just don't get it. You could build the wall of Jericho here. A wall along the Mexico border does not secure the border. It deters many from taking that route POSSIBLY but still allows all of the thousands of miles of other borders to be crossed. It still alllows thousands to come in legally and let their visas lapse. The front door is locked down but all other windows and doors are wide open. I guess the concept of sneaking in the back door is foreign to you? No pun intended.

How do you figure we'll spend billions on these illegals? We will if your way continues. While the wall is slowly built millions can still come in and will also come in through other borders.
