Irony? All I hear in this place from the right is “look at all the American carnage happening right now, the only people who can stop it are the people already in charge”. If that’s not ironic, it most certainly is stupid.
People over property bro. Whose side are you on?It's not okay for anyone to destroy property. A president should be encouraging law enforcement to do their jobs and quell the vandalism and acts of violence. A president should not be encouraging fellow citizens to take up arms against the vandals and looters.
Lol no. If portlandia wants to burn itself down and it doesnt effect other states the president needs to stfu and stay out of it. Not a federal problem.
Unless they can track violence to crossing the Columbia, which wouldnt be too hard or unrealistic. But until that point this is a state issue.

So instead we should support the ones encouraging the American carnage happening right now?Irony? Between this guy and the 17 year old in Wisconsin, the pattern of arming oneself (or caravaning with a bunch of fellow Trumpsters) for the VERY PURPOSE of antagonizing protestors and hoping for a confrontation is exactly what Trump wants. He promotes it. Disgusting.
The federal people in charge cannot intervene unless the state people in charge invite them. Not without extraordinary measures which nobody should want. So yeah your statement is correct. The irony is you were either too dumb to know the fed rules of engagement or too dumb to know we’d know it and call you on it? Flash backs on hunting licenses here?Irony? Yes. The mayor of a liberal city has a delicate balancing act to follow. You have to be sensitive to the concerns of the peaceful protesters while also making it clear that vandalism, looting, arson and violence are unacceptable means. That is not the majority of the forms of "protest" but those are the people who garner the most attention... primarily from right-wing media. That is a fair point but shouldn’t the mayor of Portland nut up and take control of the situation in his city?
You forget to mention that you also don’t de-nutt your local law enforcement and prevent them from doing their job. You’re welcome.Yes. I agree that these local civic leaders are not doing enough to emphasize that laws will be enforced. A show of police force is necessary to stop people from using events of social protest as an excuse to steal and vandalize property. In Seattle and Portland, these mayors have fallen short of their civic duty. You forget to mention that you also don’t de-nutt your local law enforcement and prevent them from doing their job. I have absolutely no idea how to respond to this. I’m not used to agreeing with you.I agree that these local civic leaders are not doing enough to emphasize that laws will be enforced.
