And the search for dirt on Sarah Palin begins

They're trying their best to make it an issue... which seems desperate to me.

Who cares, it's time for football.

The McCain camp knew. Palin would have been a fool to keep it from them during the vetting.

Obviously, since she is keeping the baby, word would have gotten out sooner or later.

Due to all the ridiculous Palin is not the mom of Trig crap, the McCain camp made the information public.

I just don't see the issue here.

Disagree completely. I'm amazed this is an issue.

The Republican pick for VP was supposed to be the appeasement to the conservative wing of the party and her 17 year old daughter is pregnant and that's not going to get talked about?

Seems to me that the Republicans have taken swipes at Obama for drug use 20 years ago, have questioned his choice of clergy, have questioned whether he is, in actuality, a Muslim. Substantively, he is ridiculed for lack of foreign policy experience.

And McCain, who is older than dirt and for whom the VP pick actually matters, picks a running mate who has a pregnant teenager and got her passport a year ago.

Usually, the VP pick does not matter but this choice does matter and it is turning out to be about as bad a one as he could have made.

Palin proves she is not a hyprocrite. In an instance where it would be so easy to change her mind and allow her daughter to have an abortion, she does not waver. She sticks to her principles. What is the problem here?

No one can seriously tell me that the McCain top brass, and McCain himself, knew of this and picked her anyway. I'll just never believe that.

wow
don't agree on much, but I think your right

It says volumes about my ability to understand human nature versus your inability to acknowledge that your guy is fallible.

Ah, like most on here voting for McCain I have complained about many of his ideas and stances, so take that inability and fallible crap and stick it up your a$$.

It only says volumes about your single mindedness. A pro life woman has a 17 year old pregnant daughter and chooses to make sure the daughter has it. I do not see the problem here?

Each of the 4 items you mentioned above applies directly to the man (Obama) on the ticket. I disagree completely with the Muslim crap, could care less about the drug use. The clergy issue is mildly relevant as a weak indicator of his world view and his experience is a definite legitimate issue.

Palin's daughter being unwed and pregnant is not about Palin. It is a shot at the family. The base will likely rally because the family is accepting and supporting the decision to keep the baby.

Palin is less experienced on foreign policy than Obama - that is a legit issue. However, she does have more Executive experience and most importantly - she is NOT running for POTUS.

Guarantee you do not know.

I wasn't there. But come on be honest. Under the circumstances of what she was touted to be for the right wing of the party, can you imagine that McCain would have chosen her if he knew 1) pregnant teenage daughter; 2) got her passport a year ago (given the one thing he was getting traction on versus Obama)?

She is the antithesis of everything she at first blush is supposed to be.

what does it say about her parenting if she has a 17 yr old unwed pregnant daughter

anything?

So yo can read minds. Can you tell what I'm thinking right now? :)

The guy says he knew. The campaign says he knew. The Palin's say he knew but somehow you know that he's lying. Quite the powers you have there.

You have as much proof about this as I do about Obama deeply believing every view of his pastor.

She's not running for Vice Parent. Her having the unwed pregnant daughter says about as much as Obama's comment about not "punishing" his children with a child.

What are you talking about? You are one of these people that confuse right wing conservatives with the idea that they think they are pefect. That is NOT what being Christian Conservative is about.

I don't think the pregnancy has any negative consequence on the right wing side of things. It is actually a reinforcing idea for social conservatives.

. . . and I thought the Republican ticket was going to be boring.
