I don't know if the audio just wasn't picking up the officers, but you hear absolutely 0 response when they asked where they should go and why they're being arrested.
CNN is too busy standing there and reminding everyone that they're "live on the air" instead of, I don't know, following the orders and dispersing from the area? Acting as if they're not in the wrong here is a total joke; CNN purposely goaded the police into making that arrest by failing to move when prompted.
Maybe so . . . but it's incredibly stupid to arrest a member of the media - live on the air - given the context of what is happening. The optics are horrible.CNN is too busy standing there and reminding everyone that they're "live on the air" instead of, I don't know, following the orders and dispersing from the area? Acting as if they're not in the wrong here is a total joke; CNN purposely goaded the police into making that arrest by failing to move when prompted.
Watch the video. You obviously have not.CNN is too busy standing there and reminding everyone that they're "live on the air" instead of, I don't know, following the orders and dispersing from the area? Acting as if they're not in the wrong here is a total joke; CNN purposely goaded the police into making that arrest by failing to move when prompted.
No, they aren't. They are very clearly asking where they need to go with no answer.
I get the CNN hate, I really do. I also distrust the MSM. There is plenty to call them out on.
But saying CNN is at fault here is really squinting and reaching to get to where you want. Police are 100% at fault here.
Exactly. It’s amazing to see the opinions of those who simply do not understand how investigations workOnce arrested, there is a clock that starts regarding court (see 6th amendment). I'm pretty sure they are investigating this to have a solid as possible case before going to court. The officers have a right to union rep and that can complicate such matters. They need to be interviewed by theFBI/I/A/State Investigators. The Mayor firing them on the spot actually hindered this process because while employed they can be compelled to give a statement. Refusal to do so could result in discipline up to and including termination of employment. Ooops, too late, now. One could only hope that their version of events were obtained before their termination.
There's a lot of other stuff that goes into all this, the officers are known, they are not a flight risk and are unlikely to commit further offense, so it makes sense to get as much as you can, as quickly as you can before putting them into a position where you have a deadline to follow-up leads/evidence.
