Another set of transfers

mikey2, we all have our place in the Great Scheme and darthie is the ultimate nega....but he is a Vol. One darthie is equivalent to @1,000 posivols. THAT is the reason we need no other negas. darthie is sufficient unto himself and ample to the forum:p.

Note: when he doesn't lose himself in negativity he'll have some really good posts:thumbsup:.

I'm sure that Holly thanks you for all your hard work. How much is she paying you by the way?:)

Nah, I'm not wearing orange glasses with Holly, but am no hater either. Much like Cannon, I believe she needs to produce or there must be change. In the meantime, not skewering her or the team. I do respect a lot of darth's posts. He can be very negative and occasionally hateful:no:, but no question he knows his stuff and is a Vol, just a true nega.

Also agree with some posters, Rickster for example, that we have taken negativity past where it needs to go and with Cannon that, if we are not careful, we will be the very ones who negatively influence the program. And I think there are very few of us that would want to do that.

GLV!

I was wondering if OSU backed out on the deal to take Tori's sister is maybe why she is leaving?

A scholarship for her sister (Madison) is one of her two demands. Madison currently has only one offer (Marquette). Tori also doesn't want to play in the post...exactly where she was placed.

Also, her father says she is miserable at OSU.

I thought OSU offered Madison as well as Tori and that is the reason Tori went to OSU. Did OSU not offer Madison, and if not why did Tori go there? Or did OSU renege on an offer to Madison?

Madison's twitter account shows an offer from tOSU from 2014.

Shoutout to my baby sister 😩👏 got her first college offer Ohio State University 👏 I'm so proud man. #D1Bound

I got that previous info from a usually reliable UConn source and I didn't follow up. Could be that they did renege or it maybe a non-committable offer.

I think Dawn has had better luck than Holly. Holly would've had her final four had it not been for injuries. The injuries go all the way back to the year with Taber Spani. Dawn is offensively challenged, she was lucky getting two very talented guards that could thrive despite a real offensive scheme, in fact that only really happened after Coates was injured (more space to create). Holly didnt have the guards Dawn had but offensively UT looked better. Dawn had a easier route to the final 4 (luck). Not having to face UCONN (luck). However, coaching wise i think theyre pretty much the same.

That is very true. No way South Carolina would've beaten Baylor & Uconn.

Did her father say why she was miserable at OSU?

COLUMBUS, Ohio —Former St. Thomas More All-American Tori McCoy made the Big Ten’s All-Freshman team this year at Ohio State, but she was miserable throughout the season, her father, Tim, said.

That’s why McCoy went to coach Kevin McGuff and asked for her release on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the school announced that McCoy and fellow freshman and former Mac Irvin Fire teammate Kiara Lewis would be transferring.

“There isn’t one issue you can really pinpoint,” Tim McCoy said. “There’s quite a few of them. … It really all boils down to happiness. She was miserable every day.”

I don't know anything about McCoy's situation at Ohio State, but I do know that most people are about as happy as they make up their mind they're going to be. If McCoy isn't happy as a nineteen-year-old getting a free education and free room and board and free meals, then she's going to be pretty miserable as a 70 year old when she's dealing with the aches and pains of old age. She better learn how to be happy and the quicker the better.

Then you have the fact that 37% of college students who get their degree have transferred prior to obtaining any undergraduate degree. Are all of them miserable still because they decided to make a change?

I think Gray and Davis were happy with their switch... Of course they never said they were miserable at UNC or Georgia Tech. Diamond was miserable and now she just chose to stay for a 4th year on campus and 3rd on the court because she is happy where she is at and wants to accomplish goals she set for herself and team.

People sure are lucky if they've never had a situation in their lives where they felt miserable. A lot of people don't do anything about it and become more miserable. Tori seems to want to not be miserable and seeks to find a better fit. Let's not knock her for that.

I have no idea. I said people are about as happy as they make up their mind they're going to be. That's independent of whether they stay or go.

I hope she figures out how to be happy.

McCoy if I remember right waited until the other elite power forward players had made their decisions before selecting her school. And again an old memory Ohio State came in late with an offer also to her sister in the future.

Again family members and a star 17 year old can together make good or bad decisions.
And that was a recruiting year where the LVs came in 2nd or 3rd for five top players. And 2 or 3 doesn't even count in horseshoes?

only one that made a noise last year that Tn missed out on was Holmes at Texas.

Kids are going to be kids and I don't judge transfers like some people. A big time transfer at a program doesn't mean that coach or school has a problem. Slocum and McCoy are major transfers but it doesn't automatically mean Freese or McGruff has a problem with their squads. Maybe they do, but all programs have transfers when their is homesickness or players who aren't a good fit.

Both Maryland and OSU have talent returning but both have holes to fill next year. Wishing the best for these talented young women no matter where they wind up.
