Anthony Grant - Alabama

hubbs posted that "grant has major concerns about who's in charge and who's going to be in charge at Tennessee". although that could mean cheek, the president, hamilton, or just a question about who would be truely in charge, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume his concern would be about the guy he would directly answer to, the ad.

Of course it's about the AD. He doesn't want to come into a job where the AD that hires him is getting ready to be forced out. That's not difficult to grasp.

That would amount to a lateral move for him, right? I think he is acting interested, so as to get a raise from Bama.

It's just as amazing that someone actually believes keeping him helps us get a better coach.

So, explain to me what coach is going to come in here at a time when the AD is in absolute complete disarray. I'll give you a hint; no one worth a crap. So, if we're willing to just sacrifice basketball, then maybe you have a point. But, I certainly hope that doesn't happen.

The first order of business should have been to hire a new AD.

Explain to me what coach is gonna come here knowing that his boss might not be around for long?

yes, that was a very clear comment by hubbs. no ambiguity possible there.

No, there isn't. He knows that Hamilton is facing a firestorm of criticism. The "he has concerns about who is in charge" part means that he has concerns that Hamilton is no longer in charge, and he doesn't know who his boss would be if he took the job. Hence, the reason for a showing of support for Hamilton by Cheek.

Frank is a longtime NBA guy--and I don't NBA vets transfer well to the college ranks. I think he can coach--the Nets have been a bad organization, that's why he was 0-16--but we're talking a big change for a longtime NBA guy. That would concern me...Doesn't know the rules, can't replace players, will need to recruit, etc.

RE Grant: He would not be my first choice, but he would be up there--a good candidate if he is interested.

This is the point I've been making the whole time. We didn't fire Hamilton after the Pearl thing. That indicates to me that he is safe. Also, I want the best possible hire for this job, and we're absolutely not going to do it if we leave lots of uncertainty about Hamilton's future.

You realize he's been an assistant in college?

Never finished better 4th in conference play is a start.

He's winning with Grant's players, and otherwise, completely unproven.

Had his first name been, "Ted" no one would know who he is.

How's that to finish it, JZ?
