I think about the players themselves. I’m hoping they stay focused and approach this game as another game they need to win. I use to get butterflies pitching for years and there comes a time you just take it all in stride, fir me anyways. Hopefully the players even if they make a mistake or two like giving up a home run or missing a key free throw shot or anything you gotta keep your composure and regroup. I think that is a sign of maturity, sign of a team that has confidence all around from coach to qb to players as we demonstrated against Bama with that fumble we gifted them yet came back and believed in ourselves and won.

It's our biggest game in 20 years--not to put TOO fine a point on it. Anxiety is to be expected.

More excited than nervous because I this point I’m thrilled with the season and what CJH is doing. Also, despite what a lot of Georgia fans would have you believe, these are two elite teams and idk what to expect. I see strengths and areas that could be exploited on both sides. Whoever wins will have earned it.

Not even phased a bit. I Believe in this team and this staff to do what needs to be done. Sure we can lose, been there before. One thing is for sure no one is going to push these guys around and tell them they don't belong. To hell with Vegas and all the haters. Wgwtfa that is all. GBO

The whole season has been like a weird hallucination to me that I still don't believe, and we've already overachieved massively, so I'm not stressed. I'm just along for the ride.

We could very well finish out this season way, way beyond what anyone expected. That's alright with me in year two.

Totally relaxed and excited to see how many points our guys hang on the uga mutts.
If the team isn’t nervous why should I as a fan be nervous?
I don’t know how long it’s been since we’ve had a team and staff this calm, laser focused and confident in reaching their goal one game at a time. Our current staff and team appear to be in lockstep with their belief in themselves and each other. Whatever happens after attaining that goal of Atlanta is just added gravy on a spectacular season.

I’m not nervous. This team seems clutch unlike teams in the past. As long as they don’t beat themselves then I’ll be fine either way. Nothing will be over either way.

The bad news is that we're playing a team that clearly has a stronger roster and were playing at their house. But the good news is neither team can use more than 11 players at a time and our guys have already beaten a team with a stronger roster (Bama) and beat a couple other pretty good teams on their field (LSU for one). I'm not really anxious but I am expecting the toughest game we've had to play all year. There will be ups and downs - highs and lows - but we have mature leadership on the field that will keep us focused and a great coaching staff.

My biggest concern for Saturday is that my wife is returning from a girl's trip with her sister and will get back in town (at her sisters - about 15 miles away) sometime late afternoon and need me to pick her up. She said she hopes I don't mind coming to get her during the game - I told her I hope she doesn't mind waiting around at her sisters for a while. :D:D:D

It’s weird but I really don’t. I don’t think think I’ve ever had more of a “playing with House money” feeling going into a big game.
I think that's the case in this game with me. I'll be disappointed if UT doesn't win. Winning the East and the SEC means about as much to me at this point as whatever happens in the playoff. In fact, winning the SEC would be more than a satisfactory "consolation" prize if the Vols lost close in the playoff.

Has anyone been this anxious before a game? I am 31 years old and have followed the Vols since the Peyton Manning days, watching games with my dad. I have been a faithful fan throughout my life and can’t recall being so excited/ anxious for a game. It’s getting hard to concentrate at work without checking what’s happening on ESPN or other media outlets talking about the Vols! Is anyone else feeling like this? GBO

No, I'm not, but I like helping my fellow Vols fans. This is for you, Beau:

I'm anxious because I have no direct impact on the game. I would feel better if I was suiting up and whipping *ss.

This.

I'm not even remotely anxious, I'm enjoying the ride. Not to mention a loss doesn't end our NC hopes.

Don't know how to feel about this game.
I think it will be a one score win, just not sure who'll be the benefactor.
The LSU game , I just wanted to kick their ass..The Bama game was a quite confidence.. Kentucky was a no brainer.
Georgia game, a win could spring this program into unbelievable status with recruiting with a national championship in the picture, along with a Heisman winner.
A loss is not the end of the world but would be another gut check..We've had our share of those over the years.
Let's Go Big Orange 👍

I'm trying to keep from getting too far ahead of myself. No one thought the Vols would be this good going into the Georgia game, so I am trying to not get over hyped.

I tend to get more anxiety playing Vanderbilt or Kentucky than I do one of the higher ranked opponents. There is NEVER ANY excuse to lose to either of them in football (this isn't baseball or basketball). I always seem to get myself worried that the Vols will overlook them, throw up a stinker, or intentionally lose (stupid WR for Kentucky beating them) to those two. Vandy and Kentucky fans seem to talk the most trash (directly to my face anyway).

Just let her wait and when she asks you where you were, tell her you in all of your excitement that you was watching a Hooker abuse a dog. (And see how that goes over.)

To me it’s pretty simple, we are Tennessee. The anxiety is always on the other side.

This. This team & coach has so far exceeded my expectations, that even if we lose, you still can't deny the impact this team has had on the program, the SEC, and the CFB landscape in general. Not to mention the recruiting momentum we will get out of this season.

I think that overall, people get tired of the same few teams always jockeying for the playoffs. It gets stale. Having a team that has been in the wilderness for 20 years that was a dumpster fire 22 months ago, now being #1 in the CFB poll is unprecedented--and a great rags to riches story. I am soaking up all the love and respect we're getting.

I'm in TX and I got a text the other day from a buddy that is a die hard Longhorns fan. It read: "I'm so jealous of how good Tennessee is"

I agree with GAVol....we're playing with the house's money.
