Any chance Tayven Jackson beats out Milton next spring?

That one was on Fant. He stumbled coming out of his break. Milton could've put it a little closer to him, but if we're not playing in a downpour, that's a TD. This was not a optimal game to be a QB to be fair. Let's see how he does in the bowl game.

This game was a carbon copy of his games before Hooker replace him last year. Missed wide open guys repeatedly.

First off, the kid's name is Tayven...TAYVEN

Second, if he shows he can hit those 30plus strikes at least 7 of 10 then yes he may replace Milton in the spring.
Do you think he gets an opportunity to show he can complete 7 out of 10, or do you think the coaches already have Milton inked into QB1 for next season?

Milton had all day and missed a wide open receiver. Threw a bullet when he didn't need to. Should've been a TD. No way to sugar coat that throw.

People need to calm down on the Milton stuff. He’s not Hendon Hooker. We will never see another Hooker. Ever. The offense will take a step back regardless of who is at QB.

This was Milton’s first meaningful snaps in over a year. And it was pouring down rain. I don’t know what he will be, but to write him off over tonight is crazy.
We don't have to have another Hooker. Another Rick Clausen would be fine but Milton is not even that.

Step back??

We just beat our average by 8 points with Milton at QB.

He didn't even have to use that riffle today, because we imposed our will on the ground.

That is does. It also tells you Milton is not a QB1 in this league considering the opponent was Candy.
Vanderbilt had been playing well with several good wins recently. Accuracy is all about confidence. No way you can settle Milton’s ability tonight as reflective of what he do next year.or after. Qb’s develop their timing over a long period of practicing with the receiver. I don’t think Milton is as far away as some of you think.

Fant literally almost stopped before he turned his head and saw the ball. That was COMPLETELY on Fant. He stopped running.

Milton has missed about 3 deep passes tonight. But the offense hasn't missed a beat. The ONLY issue I have seen is that he's missed 2-3 opportunities to take off with the ball that would have resulted in at least a 5-6 yard gain, if not more.

Are you blind or just lying? He didn't throw a bullet. He literally put a ton of air under that ball. Fant stumbled. Milton threw it away from the safety that was still over the top.

That's not to say Milton didn't miss several deep balls, because he did. That one wasn't on him though. I'm also sure why we didn't throw more intermediate routes. He threw the dart to Keyton over the middle on 4th down.

Yeah I'm thinking there was a concerted effort for him to not scramble or keep it on the zone read just given the depth situation. He would've had a walk in touchdown if he had keep one of those zone reads.

Are you talking about the same play? Milton's pass to Fant across the middle was a bullet.

KY and FL are good wins????

I do agree with you about one night. But, Milton has had multiple opportunities. It seemed like he had finally begun to figure things out when he got mop up duty this year. The likes came on for real at the end of the game last week and then again this week, and he looks just like he did last season when he was QB1. Milton is super talented but just doesn't have it when the lights come on. He's sort of the opposite of Dobbs.

Another Milton meltdown thread. SIGH, for the lava Pelée, stop peeing lava and let the coaches coach.

Pretty much every time he stepped in at cleanup this year, he threw incredible, gorgeous and perfectly thrown deep balls. To me common sense would dictate that something about his mindset just changes when he’s the front guy and it’s all on his shoulders; he just cannot- to this point- consistently throw the deep ball with accuracy. Those who are arguing there’s nothing to be concerned about because we blew out Vandy tonight are failing to see the bigger picture. Not that we needed them in this one, but offhand I’m remembering at least 4 TDs we left on the field due to overthrows. I want very much to see this kid succeed, but at this point my confidence level is not high that he can lead us through pressure situations and make great throws under duress. My feeling is he just still isn’t the guy to consistently get it done going forward. Prove me wrong Joe! 🏈
