Any Vitello Update?

Still no contract signing after we were assured by some members on this board two weeks ago that only MINOR issues remained to be resolved, and that a signed contract announcement was imminent.

The leap is assuming that the speculation about the AD pulling back on promises previously made to Tony V - the speculation by Ben and Swain - is true. I have no idea if it's true or not, and I suspect neither do you or Ben or Swain. One thing we do know is that someone who is in the know sent a text telling them in real time that speculation was not the case.

Shows you there's not many people really in the know, but a whole bunch of them that think they are.

Ask yourself one question. Do you think TV is going to read every word of a contract, and is too busy?
I'm sure his agent and lawyer are paid handsomely to make sure everything is as agreed upon and read the contract. These things get done in a timely fashion all the time by coaches. Barnes recently signed a new contract.
I'm not trying to start a conspiracy but something seems off.

Until I hear from a credible source that there is reason for concern, I’m not going to worry. Too much baseless speculation here. I’m sure this week has been busy with recruiting and roster management with the draft tonight.
Yeah I see no reason to freak out. All the openings that would’ve been considered comparable or better jobs than UT are filled. There’s really nowhere for TV to go right now

From yesterday morning’s Swain Event (From 1:40:17-1:55:23):

Of note: Towards the very end of Ben and Swain's discussion, it appears that Swain received more insight claiming that "The deal is all but done. Tony's been recruiting, Tony obviously wants more money for his staff...There's not been a detailed plan on how it's going to happen with the staff... the stadium enhancements are a big deal of that as well, but the deal is about but done. "

My main takeaway is that a deal will be eventually finalized, but there are nuances in this negotiation that need to be navigated.

When all is said and done, I hope Coach V's loyalty and trust in UT is still intact (Looking at you, Danny White: Time to solidify your public proclamations), because if it isn't, this may come back to bite us next offseason or in the future.

Is AD White making this process harder than it needs to be or is he just being thorough? Locking down success shouldn’t be this difficult. Should it?

OR: Is the Swain event making this process of waiting harder and more difficult than it needs to be by needlessly and baselessly speculating that the time is being consumed by AD White mucking around?

It's one of the longest contract negotiations between a school and a coach that wants to be at said school.
Let's not forget TV was/is one of the hottest names in the game right now.
Yes the others jobs have been filled, hopefully that's not being used as leverage against him.
However it's Tennessee, we seem to have a penchant for mucking things up.

TIFWIW, but my sources have told me that they heard Vitello has lakefront property in New York and he's holding out for the Yankees job to open up at the end of the season. #Vrumors
The Yankees job will be open before the end of the MLB season. But, if anyone thinks the Yankees will take a chance on a college coach with the lineup they have, they're not being rational.

No you're wrong. I've been told by my source that Vitello's meteoric rise has caught Cashman's eyes and he would be a serious candidate.

Yankees could go after Braves 3b coach Washington to replace Boone if they decide to make a change.

I'm just glad Italy won the Euro Cup, because some insiders at FIGC told me that if they lost, they were going to can Mancini and would be coming after Vitello

John Brice on Swain Event just said UTAD and Tony Vitello are in a “Mexican stand off” concerning contract negotiations
