Any Vols Coming out to California for the Cal Game?

Few things: Forsett ran behind Lynch AND against Pac 10 defenses.

I bet Forsett will have a mediocre season.

actually he started 4 games in 05 when lynch was injured. avg 6.8 yards per carry in those games. and as for the "pac-10 defenses" argument, if it is so easy to run for mega yards against pac-10 defenses how come there are only 1 or 2 1000 yard rushers a year in the conference? SC who you guys seem to think is so fantastic didn't even have a guy break 750 yards last season and he avg less than 5 yards per carry (less than forsett and lynch).

edit: lynch also won pac-10 player of the year in 06

AHAHAHAHA! They had like 696 guys rotating. How many carries did Gable get? How many carries did Chauncy get?

Listen, I think Forsett is fine enough - however, his 2006 wasn't what you're making it out to be. His 2005 was great - I loved it.

I guess we really do need to get back to the point at hand - CAL football is getting better (couldn't have gotten any worse) and that matters none because they I'm guessing they split with Vandy in a 10 year home and home scenario.

they'll eventually start using the forward pass out there and then they'll really score a lot of points against one another.

Cal is a good football team.

However, these Cal fans don't seem to understand that the FIELD matters more than anything. Head to head matchups are the most telling games of all. Yes, UT beat Air Force by 1, UT lost to PSU by 10, but UT beat Cal by 17! Period. End of story.

Will 2007 be different? We won't know until it happens.

Good being a very relative term.

they ranked 4th in the confence in rushing. a distant 4th too.

I can't wait to do my APP analysis for the Pac 10. Everyone goes "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh so and so led the conference in rushing." Well, for most conferences, the schedules aren't similiar. The Pac 10 and Big East are more accurate due to playing every team, but it'll be interesting to see if the stuff changes with my APP.

the only sample you guys care about is one game. relavant to the conversation certainly, but one game does not make a trend. repeat the beatdown and then i'll admit we suck (as i've said all along btw). too imply our other 11 games don't mean anything is just silly.

cool. how's this. every good team CAL played beat them like some kind of mid 80s looking Northwestern thing. that work?

even the most delusional trojan fans admit their running game sucked last season.

That's definitely fair and you have a good outlook on all of this. As I've told you before, you have to take the opportunity when you win a big game to totally brag about it for a year. :)

right right right. i forgot SC is the only decent team outside of the SEC. Strange how they have far more problems with pac-10 teams than they do with any other conference.

probabilities my friend. probabilities. need an explain, just shout

number of close non-conference games by SC last season (0 out of 4)

number of close conference games by SC last season (6 out of 9)
cute stat use, but utterly meaningless. their D was mediocre at best and their results showed it.

Did they beat Cal?
