Anybody don't want Texas A&M to join

Somewhere from 3-5. Exactly where is debatable and too hypothetical to argue easily. I'm just making the point that those saying they won't be competitive are way off. They are already more competitive than Tennessee or UGA...traditional SEC powerhouses and all. I have mixed feelings about them joining, but no worries that they can play ball.

Beating Oklahoma and Nebraska impressed me but besides that all those win are winnable games for Tennessee

I said a&m has been better than us for 3 or more years. I'm not sure how a clip from 2005 is supposed to refute that (it is 2011). Nice try though.

I believe that's what he's looking at. Or more covers a lot of years. Cotton beat down just became relevant.:hi:

I still do not understand why the best conference would feel the need to expand.

I would much rather see teams like GaTech, UNC, FSU, noticing a trend here? They are all SOUTHERN teams, hence the name Southeastern Conference.

i would say texas is a southern state. hell they where right there with us in the war of northern aggression.:eek:lol:

If we HAVE to expand, I want to keep the Alabama game (as should every other Tennessee fan that's ever existed), so let's get an Eastern school. WVU certainly doesn't sound so bad right now. Neither does USF or someone.

Also, we're not getting an ACC school. Sorry.

I personally think A&M will get it handed to them this weekend by Arky. I really don't know if they could handle stretches of Bama , Florida, and LSU, even TN and Uga week in and out. It is whole different ball game when teams have talent and DEFENSE throughout the league.

That's like saying "Other than accomplishing a level of success we haven't had in over 5 years, they are just like us."

Welcome. Academically they are a great school. And in sports other than football(which they are better than us currently) they are really good

If A&M was in the SEC this year, they'd immediately be the 3rd best team. For that matter, in the past 3 years (or maybe more), they'd have beat the piss out of us in football. If you don't want expansion, that's fine, but don't pretend they can't hang. There's plenty of cons, but them being uncompetitive isn't one.

I think it's funny that the OP thinks they can't hang with the SEC when UT can't even hang with the SEC the last 5 years

I'm fine with them joining.

Agree. I didn't want it to happen but I might as well accept it because the powers that be is gonna make it happen no matter what average Joe fan thinks.

College football tradition and rivalries will be no more!! I know everyone says we felt the same in 92 and everything worked out but this is a totally different situation. IMO by 2013 we will probably have 16 teams and it makes me sick!!!! Also JMO but there is some sneaky s**t goin on with Texas and Oklahoma and the PAC 12.

LSU, Bama, Florida, Arkansas and even USC is better than A&M!! If they were in the SEC this year, they would have an SEC schedule and would have 7-8 wins tops IMO.
