Back in the early seventies (when I was young) I went to my first game in Neyland Stadium. A couple of my friends and I got there early to catch the players warming up and all of that. They were out on the concourse and I walked through the concourse to look at the inside of the stadium for the first time. As I was standing there in awe (there was virtually nobody in the stadium) I noticed a couple of cops about ten rows down talking to each other. They started up and I moved a step or two over to allow them to pass as I assumed they were going out onto the concourse. As they walked by one grabbed my by the arm and said "let's go". I said go where to which he replied you're going to jail. Of course I wasn't doing anything but standing there by myself so I asked what for. He said I was drunk but I hadn't had anything to drink. Sure enough he put me in a paddy wagon and they took me to jail for doing absolutely nothing. I had another episode after the Florida game in '01 but I guess I was too old for him to treat me like he was a gestapo soldier that time.

professional isn't in the vocabulary of the knoxville police force.

a**hole, prick, aggressive, unhelpful, instigator suit much of the force.

there's a reason, from what i've been told, that certain officers are stuck on event and night duty.

I guess Hitler :gun:was a hero of yours this America and No student has ever died from rushing the court. The students should be able to rush the court and celebrate with the players. Now a 40 yr old man should sit this out. Its about the players and the students enjoying the moment. Go Vols.

I saw the two kids rush down they were pretty fiesty with the cop trying to get past him... after they got the first kid they really went after the second one dragging him half way down the "rowdies" section and i think even a piece of the front railing was broken by the end of the scuffle... its a bull$*!T rule made after we stormed after we beat the gators a few years ago.

I say anytime someone is mistreated by cops and they win in court, they should be allowed to return the favor to those cops as retribution. Especially if the people being mistreated were wrongly accused. If cops were held accountable for their actions, some of them wouldn't be such power abusing pricks. It's easy to abuse people when they can't fight back without even more repercussions than an a** kickin.

Clueless.

UT PD are overaggressive and for the most part treat the students like they are prisoners at a work camp. "What weÂ’ve got here is failure to communicate."

:bad:

KPD has to deal with a lot of thugs and drug dealers but what could these students possibly have done to deserve this? I have family on both Sullivan County and KPT City and they stay on a constant power trip. It's a shame that good people get have to face these punks that stay on a constant wanna whip your *ss power trip especially at a very controlled enviroment like Thompson Bowling. Leave the kids alone we have a hard enough time getting them to come out to support the teams as it is!

Cops suck, but we all knew that. The kid didn't kill anyone, that's the only justification I could find for beating the hell out of him like they did. I was drunk too so I made the poor decision to throw my coke on the cops below.

What kind of people do you expect to be cops when you're required to put your life on the line every day for 28K a year?

Yep that group is very hostile same thing happened at the Kansas game. I'm usually very respectful of the badge but some of these guys are bullies not law enforcement. Needs to be looked into seriously. Remember To Protect and Serve.

prolly deserved it.

Two kids were arrested. I had floor seats in the corner that this occurred so I know what at least the second guy did. I looked to the Rowdies after the game and saw one kid trying to run onto the floor, so yes he probably deserved to get arrested. However, the student in question NEVER GOT OUT OF THE ROWDIES SECTION. This kid never even touched the black carpet behind the goal. He came down, pointed at a cop, and said, "That guy is innocent!" then turned to walk back into the Rowdies. The cops saw this then ran into the student section after him, pulled him out, threw him onto the ground at my feet, and used excessive force to put him in cuffs. The entire time the kid kept saying, "I wasn't doing anything!" A few friends and I who were right there due to the cops throwing him to the ground in front of us told the cops he wasn't doing anything wrong. The cops responded to this by pointing at us and telling us to shut the f*** up and leave the building. We just looked at them said no, and went to where Renaldo, Hall, Pearl, and Hopson were. Like I said though, I'm pretty certain that the first kid was in the wrong, the second one however did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

I think potential UT Police employees have to have been beaten up and humiliated through their school years as a prerequisite to being employed. These guys act like they have such a chip on their shoulder and get such a kick out of being a glorified security guard.

When they were about to let us in the arena for the camp out Friday night, one officer said over a megaphone that anyone who crossed the yellow tape they had put to mark off where we couldn't go would be thrown out of the arena and taken to jail for trespassing. Tough guys, those UTPD officers. Lulz.

Yea, when I was at UT, it was unbelievable. I'm sure you've seen them basically act like they were going to execute someone for jaywalking.
