Face palm all you want, but I've toured all over the country both playing and as a TM and I promise you Fender is only good for guitars and basses. Industry standard on amps is Orange, Mesa, Marshall, or Ampeg. Fender amps are good for jamming at home but that's about all.
What would you recommend for a cabinet?
Marshall makes a combo version of the head I posted, both of which get great reviews, that's usually around 500 or so if I remember correctly. I would spend a couple hours at guitar center playing different amps and find out what sounds good to you. Sometimes a little 15 watt amp will kill bigger amps tone wise since you don't have to crank them as much to get that natural tube breakup.
I've never got to monkey with a tube head. Since GC reconfigured, I haven't monkeyed around with any amps.
I use to like going to Best Buy when they had the glass room with the amps in there. Glad I don't drink much any more. A little liquid courage + a 100 watt Marshall in a glass enclosure could have been fun. Lol

I like their old layout better, the new feels too open lol I never tried out amps at Best Buy. Tube definitely beats out anything else. Solid state amps try hard and was great when I was just starting out but nothing beats a tube amp. Throw in an overdrive, delay, reverb pedals and you're pretty much set.
Best Buy's music department got bought out, and GC is getting killed by places like AmericanMusicalSupply and Zzounds with the no credit check pay plans. I've ordered tons of stuff over the years through AMS. AMS is no sales tax, free shipping, no interest, and a pay plan with no credit check. How can anyone compete with that?
Wow! I need to check that out! My last pedal I bought from Gear Tree cause they do really nice bundles where you get the pedal plus both patch and guitar cables.

AMS is so great. I was in Boston on tour one time and blew a cab. Ordered an Orange cab around Noon and had it the very next day, delivered around 10am. Their east coast warehouse is in New York I believe. If you saw my purchase history with AMS, you'd barf haha.

I've been thinking about getting an orange amp. I currently play through either a pedal board, TC processor and Mackie PA, or just through my Reason or Line 6 apps on the computer with studio monitors. I don't play with a band but have thought about joining the church worship team. Just not crazy about being in front of a crowd. I would need to conquer that anxiety.
