Bi-athelon?
Biathlon- yeah, that's it. Love that. I was high on 'expert rifleman' scores in the army. Loved to hit the 300 meter consistently. May could have done sniper MOS but for my glasses. So knowing a very little of what concentration it takes to calm your mind and body without even having done a gigazillion km crosscountry ski to the station ...I am amazed at their ability to achieve any real accuracy. But wow! ... yes they do.
Haha, my friends made fun of me for watching the "girly" stuff women's figure skating is right behind gymnastics for me.
Hello. My name is Tin Man, and I watch women's Olympic sports. Not just beach volleyball, I also watch court volleyball, gymnastics, soccer, track & field, swimming & diving, and the Australian basketball team when they're wearing those skintight unis. What can I say? I dig hot-bodied female athletes doin' their thing...
I am only interested on the days the rest of the tv schedule is crap. Usually I would be super interested. I have no clue how Rio was awarded the games. Did they not send representatives there to check out that crap hole?
Nice post. Thanks. The IOC has been unabashedly corrupt since the 1936 Berlin games. Likely, the perks promised to the committee members were staggering. Brazil's economy was hot when they presented Rio's bid to host the games. Several years of growth with political & currency stability made Brazil a rising star. At the time (2008), it wasn't so far fetched that they would complete all of the promised infrastructure improvements and Olympic
construction on time.
Well, since Rio was awarded the games in Oct 2009, the economy has not remained strong. Neither the currency nor the political situation have remained stable. Brazil has
not fulfilled their promises. FUBAR. Toxic s**t
holes for venues, incomplete and/or substandard facilities, zika... As long as the IOC's accommodations, transport, and other perks are 5-star, they don't give a hoot if sailors contract debilitating, incurable superbugs.
Recalling Juan Antonio Samaranch's characterization of the Atlanta Olympics as "most exceptional" - he wasn't satisfied with his pampering, especially the failure to clear roadways for his unimpeded passage - I'm
wondering what Thomas Bach will say about
Rio.
