Yes. What's her face said she was best she has ever seen. Hope she lives up to the hype.

She's like 19 and 3-peated after some euro gymnast said something racial about her and the media tried to blow it up...she seems to handle pressure well.

I'll watch wrestling and archery. I also like watching water polo... I would never be able to tread water for an hour.

EDIT: A little side note Jordan Burroughs is trying to be the first ever back-to-back gold medalist in wrestling in any weight class for the US

Megan Rapinoe

Eww, what?

I like the Olympics but hate that every other show on tv stops airing when they're on. Out of the two I prefer the winter Olympics.

The alternative to Rio would have been Doha, Qatar where people would have actually died from heat exhaustion.

I can't stand the winter olympics. It's a bunch of (mostly) wealthy athletes from cold climates doing things on expensive equipment. Summer Olympics is much more inclusive.

Why is basketball in the summer Olympics?

Even though Basketball is mostly a winter sport for us in the US the IOC states that only sports conducted on ice or snow are eligible for Winter Olympics. It's a win for us because the NBA is done playing for the season and that prevents players from being taken away from their regular season.

Now don't dare ask why baseball, softball, or squash aren't allowed at the summer olympics.

Cause it's not played on ice?

I don't care. We made up the game, and it was made so they could play during the winter

Keeping students fit

Basketball was invented in December 1891 by Canadian James W. Naismith. An instructor at the YMCA Training School in Massachusetts, he sought a suitable indoor game to keep his students fit and warm during the cold New England winters. He formulated 13 rules, most of which still apply today. In 1893, the first womenÂ’s game was played at the Smith College, in Northampton, Massachusetts, USA.

This. I find the winter games fascinating, but the summer stuff is the best.

They should change that. Basketball, volleyball, and some other indoor sports should be switched. There's too big of an imbalance between summer and winter sports.

Phelps with gold #19 is an accomplishment that might hold the record books for a long, long time

I've now seen two of the worst injuries you could just about witness on tv and it's only like 2 days into the Olympics.

The dude that broke his leg was worse than watching Nick Chubb do it last year.

Phelps was a beast last night. Hard to believe they considered dropping him from the relay. The anchor leg was flying as well
