The great pumpkin sucks, he couldn't coach an avocado. JP Prince is a joke just like Pearl. One and done in the NCAA!!!!!! We just lost to another one and done team pathetic.

I am sure CBP coached Prince to make that boneheaded pass to Smith. Sure we all expected more out of this team this year, but it has not happened for whatever reason. I do not believe it is because of the coach. Look at what TN basketball has done in the last 4 years, count the wins vs losses, the respect they we now have nationally, when was the last time you saw TN playing in the tourney's championship game.... these accomplishments among many others are a direct result of CBP. I am very thankful he is our coach and appreciate all the efforts he continues to put forth to improve this program in every way. I remember the past all too well, and these times are so much better.

Yea, thanks coach for not demanding that the players play hard. Thanks for not demanding half court offense of defense. Thanks for continuing to play the laziness snowbirding college player I have ever seen. Thanks for blowing the easiest SECT we will ever have. I mean, we should give you a raise, as 2 mil is not enough.

It just boggels my mind that the team or Bruce or both can not show up in big games. We have had our 3 biggest games in probably the history of TN basketball in the past 3 years and have layed a big fat egg in all three. THe only time we played good was the 1st half against O State, from there on we have played like crap. Today was no exception, the team played stupid, and seemed like they didn't care. I am just hoping one day we can win a big time game.

I'd have to say when y'all beat us to get to #1 in the polls was a pretty big game. I'm not really a CBP fan but he did a good job in a huge game on that day.

No, but I put this game on the shoulders of our two leaders,Prince and Smith. Smith to the NBA --not hardly.
I think they will all be back next year.

That being the salient point in the whole discussion. Nimrods are on here acting as if I can't understand basketball because I argue that we look uncoached, even amidst our myriad overwhelming "accomplishments."

If the players are too stupid to respond to coaching, then why do they look like a drill team in the one situation when we do look well-coached -- when the other team is inbounding the ball?

We look great then. Everybody's got a job, knows it, executes it. The rest of the time we look like we're improvising. Why is that the case?

It takes a real idiot to not understand that we have been to TWO Sweet Sixteens since Bruce got here and the only other viable coaching candidate is Buzz Peterson. Do you really want to go back to Buzz Peterson? Seriously, how many Sweet Sixteens has Buzz Peterson been to?

Bruce Pearl is a good coach. I think he has learned a thing of two this year. People on this board need to stop complaining about his ability. When was the last time the Vols went the the NCAA 4 years in a row with two sweet 16 appearances? It was 1991 when they went to the last tournament final! We actually won two SEC tournament games! He has improved this program every year! Sure he has some work to do but what program doesn't? He wants to win and coaches to win. He can't play for those kids. He put them in the position to win yesterday and they did not perform. You can't win shooting the way they did. CBP and the coaching staff cannot shot for them! Let's get off CBP back. He is the best thing to happen to UT basketball in a long, long time.

along with that. how many eastern division titles did he win, and how many tourneys did he make it to lead alone winning a game there?

and in the next 2 seasons that will happen, he will have his players in his system. but do u want to run a guy off who has built this program up from the buzz ball days.

I would prefer less salesman and more coaching. Give me a deaf-mute who can have his players complete at least 1 out of bounds play when the conf champ is on the line and I'll be happy.

I firmly believe that some coaches are builders and some are next-level guys. CBP has done an admirable job getting UT on the map but he is not a guy who will take your program to the next level. If UT is serious about bball they need a next-level guy. Winning will excite the fanbase more than antics will.

and frankly, we wouldn't be an option for a next level guy without the changes CBP has ushered in. For that, he deserves all of the kudos in the world and has earned his pay. I'll never argue against that.

I am in complete agreement with that statement. What Bruce Pearl did for your program is remarkable. He's got them in the biggest spotlight they've ever been in while I've been alive and he's brought an energy to the program that is remarkable. I think he should get two more years minimum to see what else he can do, but then it might be time to try and make a step up.

While I think he deserves two more years, he needs to step up his game. Figure out some simple set offenses and teach better D (perhaps he may even need to learn it).
