Arian Foster got 2nd round projection

Well like a lot of people already said I don't see Foster going that high mostly because of his speed. I just don't think he is fast enough to play in the NFL, he often gets looks at open space but if he is getting caught from behind like he did many times this year in college, he is going to have a very hard time when everyone gets bigger, stronger, and faster. I think of Foster much like Cedric Houston. I don't think he'll go much higher than he did and like a previous poster said. Houston went in the 6th round.

If he goes out this year or next year his 40 time at the combine will make or break him probably. I think he will be slower than Kurt Roper or Ryan Karl say he is. There's been plenty of people who were expected to go in first round and dropped enormously after there 40 times came out. Our friend Peter "the Great" Warrick for one.

Peter Warrick was the fourth pick in the 2000 draft.

Arian Fossssssssssster..

yeah, you are right.\\I like the beer though

If your report says 2nd round your more likely a 4th/5th rounder...Darius Washington TB from ND his said 3rd-6th he went undrafted Foster would be one of the Top TB's next year if he stays....because remember Stewart from Oregon might be coming out also

Foster needs to go, he'll not improve his status with another year at UT. That being said, I highly doubt a second round projection would prove to be accurate. It is just a projection. People projected USC to win the NC and that seemed like a very reasonable projection.

There's a lot fewer things to take into consideration in a draft projection than picking the National Champions in college football. That said, I still don't see Arian going in the second round. I really wonder if what the scouts really said was more along the lines of "second round -at best."

if he declares and goes to the combine his stock will fall big time because his forty time will be about a 4.7 if that

I wasn't comparing the 2 directly, just the idea that projecting is a precarious business.

That's the thing. I think the actual NFL scouts give really accurate projections. Much, much, much more accurate than season predictions. Another reason I'm having trouble believing Arian was told he'd go 2nd round. Maybe they actually said 2nd day.

I was trying to think back if Rob Smith got a draft projection?

There is way too much being made about AF's 40 time, yes it helps if you are a burner but NFL scouts do not scrutinize RB 40 times nearly as much as they do WRs and DBs. Plenty of RBs in the NFL with less speed than Foster, many have had great careers, Emmitt Smith, Tiki Barber, Corey Dillon and Kevin Faulk just to name a few all had slower 40 times than Foster.

NFL scouts are looking for RBs with multiple skills such as pass catching ability and blocking, and durability, Foster pretty much has that talent. My guess is he will be alot like a Fred Taylor or a Kevin Faulk, not great but steady and productive. If he goes I think he goes in the late 3rd round or early 4th at best.

Pleasseeee. To use a method others use on here:

Fred Taylor >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AF

I would be amazed if he could out run me. No way he runs a sub 5 sec 40. Bye Bye AF , hello Hardesty/ creer
Please go

He would burn you. Yes, he runs faster than a 5.0 forty. Give me a break.

Yeah, let's cheer the departure of our thousand yard back so we can rely on a guy that always gets hurt or another guy that's thin, unproven, and carries the ball like a loaf of bread.

Walker, Darrius Walker. Arian has done light years more than DW did.
