Army Female recruits can't pass the physical

I always thought it would be more practical and realistic for us in the infantry to do a 25 mile road march instead of the 2 mile run. 6 hour max time limit 75lbs of gear.
I can count on 1 hand how many times I've had to ruck more than 5-6K during any deployment/field training exercise.

25 is dumb. So is the 12 miler.

Things must have changed more than I thought.

Even so, a timed road march with combat load is more apropos to an infantry soldiers physical reediness than the 2 mile run.

More liker an adventure I'm sure.

Looks like VN has lowered the spelling standards for thread titles.

As I stated, I happen to agree that in combat arms - there should be consideration to equal standards, given the importance of their rolls.

Or lowered spelling standards in a thread with lowered spelling standards.

Too many people in this thread letting science get in the way of peoples dreams.

If Chandra can't carry a tool box on the flight line but wants to fast rope out of a Blackhawk how dare anyone tell her otherwise! Don't need upper body strength to fall out of a helicopter anyways.

We had to do the 12 miler at Stewart along with a 4 mile run in addition to our regular PT test. I think we did a 17 miler in basic at Leonard Wood and it was pretty brutal.
