smartest player on the team imo. made it out in time. Like in one of my favorite movies... Boiler Room.. remember at the end, the poor sap who invested his life savings into the bogus ipo... the main character wanted to right the situation at the very end and get his money back so he asked vin diesels character to sign off on the sale back of his stock and he did... well Arnett is the guy who got his money back just before the place went under... very fitting imo. Great movie by the way. Sorry to those I’ve spoiled it for.

My thoughts exactly. No hard feelings against him. Howard and Croom will ease any depth woes this may have caused.

On 104.5 this morning Hubbs had a great recommendation for the transfer rule. Basically, he argued that the NCAA should make a bright line rule I remove the power (real or perceived) that coaches wield when a current player wants to transfer. His suggestion was: (1) can't transfer within the conference and (2) can't transfer to a school that is currently scheduled to play against the player's current school within the player's remaining eligibility.

Don't know why people are all upset about this, he seems to have a really legitimate reason for transferring. Best of luck to the guy, he had a great freshman season and I'm sure he will develop into a good player for MSU.

Good for the Arnett family. "Played" or not, this was the right thing to do. I hope the best for him. Seems to have his prioroties in order............

Yeah...being dishonest, failing to uphold your commitments and putting yourself above team are great priorities

If Arnett would have actually acted like a man and visited dooley face to face he would have been released sooner...texting and sending emails to media outlets to get your way...not so much. I will stand with dooley on this one. Dooley only released Arnett after he talked face to face. (Did this with b brown). Yes the dad is sick and I hope him only the best, but the dad was sick while he was in high school, shoud have stayed close to him and this never would have been an issue. Imo not that you asked but it is a message board...and let's also not forget the whole ccb issue, seems like he wanted a coach ,more than a program.

Moral of the story, if a kid jumps up and down and screams enough he should get his way. Was seeing this happening a mile away.

That was worked out weeks ago.

The only reason he wanted to leave is because he already worked a deal with msu. Actually his brother did it on his behalf.

And its why he made such a big deal about getting a full release.

His brother went to HS with the Grad assit at MICHIGAN. I would tend to lean towards that being an issue more than MSU.

I understand that some of you are not going to be happy about this. Starters do not usually transfer. The circumstances of cBaggett leaving makes it look even worse. But Arnett was leaving whether Baggett was still on staff or not.

These family issues are not made up. They were not there when he enrolled at UT. The relationship with the father was not as good when he enrolled at UT. Life changes. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.

dArnett has stated many times that he is thankful for the time at UT. He is thankful for the friends, for the coaches, for the fans. This was a move that was 100% based on him and his family.

Am I glad he is at MSU, heck yes. I would be a fool not to be. But I would be just as happy for him if he was at um, or CMU. I would probably be happier for him if he was at Saginaw Valley State. But he is not.

I supported him at UT, I will support him at MSU. He is a good kid that gets some really crappy advice from people that he looks up to.

There are a couple WR prospect out there that just dropped MSU off their radar because Arnett is there. If I were you folks, I would start concentrating on them.
