Around the SEC

SEC Tournament: Saturday, May 28th Games
1:00pm:
#3 Texas A&M
#7 Ole Miss

TBD:
#4 Florida
#5 LSU

For such a good event that this is I won't watch a pitch of this tomorrow and honestly no one should because IMO there is nothing on the line.

Baseball had turned so much into a road to Omaha sport these 4 teams have nothing really to gain in terms of what really matters

I know some with say an SEC championship but my guess is there isn't one team left that would take an sec championship over a trip to Omaha

Calling my bookie to place money on Ole Miss and LSU. :)

Actually, I think you have it right.

Agreed! No more "mercy rules" in this tournament after MSU & vandie succumbed to big numbers. Ole Miss-LSU would mean an electric crowd Sunday! It has really been a fun week at this tournament! :hi:

I disagree. Ole Miss has a lot to play for. They are playing for a possible top 8 national seeding in the NCAA tourney. Same thing goes for LSU. Neither of these two teams are a lock top 8 national seed. Both A&M & UF are locked in. So, there is something to play for in these games.

TAMU PH comes off the bench and hits a 3 run shot to put them up 10-8, T8, after trailing most of the game....GREAT GAME!

A&M and Ole Miss should be playing again tonight. The format is so dumb.

I mean Ole Miss is undefeated in this, and A&M has a loss. I understand their worried about pitching, but changing the semi-finals back to single elimination just doesn't make sense to me.

You make a good point. Didn't even catch that. Ole Miss certainly hasn't lost yet so that would be stupid.

The coaches won't support going back. It won't surprise me if they drop it from 12 teams to 10 in the near future either...They'll do anything to play less games imo.

Yep. It is what it is I suppose.

TAMU gonna get to play for their first SEC Tourney Championship. They win 12-8.

On a side note, walking from the concourse to the press conference room. I'm pretty sure half of Louisiana is in this place. Impressive #LSU

I'm all for eight. Do it like omaha. Teams nine through whatever are nothing more than a reason to throw your midweek guys. Game are less than meaningless. Sec won't do it because they feel it makes it less likely the league would get nine invites...go figure.

To speak to what some of you have throughout the last couple of weeks....

Florida is starting a pitcher today who has thrown all of 16 innings all season and he's a lefthander that can throw in the mid 90's.

The real problem with the SEC tournament is that most of the teams there really don't want to win it.

Not really. They'll win it on certain terms. But, most of the teams are just trying to get the heck out of there without taxing their pitching staffs.

Just turned on the UF/LSU game. No score yet.

What time is the game tomorrow? Anyone know?

I'm guessing UF's terms didn't include India taking a knee to the back of the head there.

Great catch by #24...both he and his brother going to the Cape this summer...
