Article: Tennessee’s Pearl not coming to Heights

Mind sharing the short version of this story?
It's simple. After Huggs turned down multiple NBA jobs, West Virginia once, Ohio State once, UNLV a couple of times, and declining to interview a bunch of other places over the years, Nancy Zimpher decided she wanted to remake UC in her own pointy headed image and essentially fired him. He's stated many times since then that those circumstances taught him all he needed to know about loyalty in college athletics.

3. Hat specifically said to methat Pearl will "flame out in two years" in regards to the comment earlier. That means the end of next year. So, yes, the time fram, however ridiculous, is still open.
.

Glad I could finally get the answer from someone. I can't wait until next year.

I'm pretty sure they placed him on probation for his drinking issues, and then he went and got arrested for DUI, and worse it was caught on video. I think he's a helluva coach, but that doesn't mean he didn't do anything to deserve termination.

What jobs do you think Bruce would leave for Hat? I can only think of one or two that would really concern me that aren't just a pipe dream.

So hatvol, do you still think Bruce Pearl will flame out after next year? Or can you at least admit to being 100% wrong about that?

I'm 100% certain he was never placed on any kind of "probation." Thus, the rest of your post is worthless.

I wonder if the UC community is still embracing her way of doing things as she stated.

Since the Pumps shorted out multiple cell phones trying to get him interviews at Indiana and Arizona, I'll start with those two. There are some Big East jobs he might take, but I don't see any of them calling him. He'd listen if Michigan called.

Or, the fact that he got a DUI and never had anybody graduate. Damn Zimpher for not showing loyalty to a university as the school's president and letting an employee slide!

This should tell you all about how hat operates. He has his favorites and will defend them for any transgressions, while excoriating another coach (hint: "tanning bed") for doing anything similar.

You know exactly what I mean. No, he wasn't legally on probation. But Cincinnati read him the riot act over the drinking, and he couldn't control it which contributed to his "resignation". WVU even put a clause in his contract about it. Stop tapdancing around it, you know what happened.

And on what planet is Michigan a better job than Tennessee at this point?
