I have some liberal friends, but for the most part political discussion doesn't occur very often. I don't dislike them at all.

There are however a couple I cannot talk with. In their minds the republicans are the very essence and cause of all the wrongs in this country and democrats are the saviors in every way. I once tried to talk about how both parties are responsible for our woes today, and he refused to listen. Much of what he says is hypocrisy, but is too blinded or stubborn to admit it.

For the record, I tend to like 99.9% of the posters here. That includes all spectrums. IMO, IP is not liberal. I like the guy. Glad therealUT is here. I've enjoyed hearing his views- even one's i may not subscribe to.

Once again, I enjoy the exchange of ideas or banter or whatever you want to call it. I don't want to surround myself with 'yes men'. I think it is good to be challenged one one's beliefs. It forces one to really examine themselves.

I pretty much dislike anyone who would vote to raise my taxes. I personally don't care what you smoke or who you stroke as long as you lay off my cash man. Go get your own. See this here. This is my money. I worked for it. You can get a job and go work for yours now too.

You see my (misplaced) rant about welfare in the SS, Unemployment, etc thread? I go off on tangents often. It's a recognized flaw.

I have more left leaning friends than right leaning friends - doesn't bother me a bit.

I only get bothered when people throw out gross generalizations - all left leaners are communists, Tea Partiers are racists, etc.

My other pet peeve is people that think The Daily Show is thoughtful analysis and just "telling it like it is"...

The only people whom I dislike in their political views are those who have no clue what either the Republican or Democratic platforms are, and are just willing to spew out ignorance in regards to either side. Politics can be fun to discuss, but most people take it to the extreme, therefore I tend to stay out of any discussion until I absolutely have to say something before people insert both feet in their mouth.
