As conservatives, do you personally dislike someone for being liberal?

Beck has gone insane and I'm glad it's not just Democrats that think so.

Beck is a gloom and doom 'Howard Sternesque' shock jock. Unhinged? I think so. Stupid? No. He's laughing all the way to the bank.

No, he's not dumb. The people that listen and believe in what he says? High probability.

One thing I find ironic is that many Protestant Christians (which I am too) think he is a very pious Godly man. At the same time, they think Mormonism is a cult more than a Christian religion. They have no clue he is a Mormon. I am not bashing the LDS, just an observation based off of conversations I have witnessed.

My grandma certainly believes every word he says, but will not listen to me when I try to tell her he is Mormon.

Could be 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' effect. That usually doesn't work out too awfully well. See the muhajadeen for reference.

Highly doubtful. I doubt 95% of Glenn Beck's viewers/listeners have ever met a Muslim, let alone had a meaningful conversation with one.

I was referring mainly to the concept of a flawed philosophy. A bit too literal of a translation.

Oh. My bad. I did have to go look up Mujahideen. But either way, she rants about Muslims and how Glenn Beck says they're all bad anyways. And really the only thing I ever see on Beck's show is something negative about Islam or his convoluted idea about the NWO.

Not a problem. I'm known for talking like others can read my mind. I'm used to it.

I know what you mean. Nearly everything I say comes out like gibberish, but makes sense to me. I also have a problem where I have a sentence worked out in my head, then when I'm halfway through typing it I forget what I'm trying to say... so I erase the whole sentence and start again or scrap it.

I have more left leaning friends than right leaning friends - doesn't bother me a bit.

I only get bothered when people throw out gross generalizations - all left leaners are communists, Tea Partiers are racists, etc.

My other pet peeve is people that think The Daily Show is thoughtful analysis and just "telling it like it is"...
I only watch it for teh lulz... Which mostly come at FNC's expense, because they are so ripe for so many opportunities.

IMO one of 9/11's biggest legacies was turning cable news into business first, reporting second organizations. Except C-Span. They're keeping it real at C-Span.

Best thing about cable news is Robin Meade.

Forget reporting accuracy. The visual quality of newswomen has definately improved. Candy Crowley (who I happen to like a bit-reporting that is) and Rachel Maddow not included.:)

Not sure why this made me laugh uncontrollably, but it did.

I especially enjoyed O's follow up YouTube videos for his comments about the tides. "Why is the moon there? You can't explain that!"

It would be nice if for once these two parties could find some common ground and fix some of the mess they've helped create.

I have some friends on both sides and they are milder versions of the clowns you see on TV rioting and fist pumping. That's all made for TV propaganda, aimed at working the sheep masses into a frenzy to help push someone's agenda. Sometimes i wish people would just turn that garbage off and get back to the real world. Most of it is so out of touch it's not worth watching anyway, garbage is all it is.

I don't dislike anyone for their political views provided they can explain why they feel that way. But if someone holds a position and can't rationally explain their reasoning the odds are we really aren't good friends

I like this answer. My daddy and grandaddy said so doesn't cut it for me either.

I probably have more conservative friends than liberal friends. I don't judge either based solely on their political views. Do the staunch conservatives in this forum have any liberal friends and, if so, do you judge them or look down on them for what they feel is right?

I live by the maxim, "Never tell another man or woman how to think or feel. Your thoughts and feelings are your most basic, inalienable rights".

Don't want to start a bonfire thread. I'm truly curious as to how the Neocons on here deal with the Bleeding Heart Liberals in their lives.

i work with a few lefties, if we talk about politics, i love to ask them if they could try to love their country at least for a day. they laugh, but i can't tell they hate it when i say that.

I can handle any political ideaology as long as you can back it up.

However, I try to avoid stupid people on both sides of the aisle.

I think liberals are either ignorant or dishonest. I don't dislike the former. I do the latter - especially those in high places who ruin lives like Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.
