Ashli Babbitt’s Killer is a blm Militant

When it comes to using deadly force you better be sure. He’s lucky the DOJ has no interest in pursuing as cops have served time for situations where the weren’t clear about the threat and took a life.
There are many more examples of cops being given the benefit of the doubt by our system of justice. See the killing of Amadou Diallo in NYC from February of 1999 as an example. Diallo was unarmed and shot 19 times by NYPD officers, who were later acquitted of all charges brought against them at trial.

Purely racist conjecture. Since you keep avoiding the question, I'll ask it in a different way. Do you think I have the right to take your life if you come up to me and yell at me angrily because I don't support you ideologies of how things should be? If you're unarmed and only pose a threat IMO? Do you think anybody has the right to take the lives of unarmed people that they deem threats?
Nothing in that post was racist.

I’m upset with this shooting. I wish it didn’t happen. I feel for Ashli Babbitt’s family.

But I have used this as an opportunity for self reflection.

How would I (you) feel if Ashli were the 10th white woman gunned down by a black cop this year?
How would I feel if she were the 50th white woman gunned down by a black cop this year?

Just something I’ve been trying to think about. It’s been a worthwhile endeavor for me.

Hasn’t resulted in any paradigm shift in my world view, but something worth thinking about imo.

I don’t question that BB. I agree there have been examples both ways but lately that pendulum has swung more heavily against officers. GF is the most obvious example.

There likely have been at least 10 white women shot by police this year and I still don’t care about the races of either. Race doesn’t matter

I agree. Race doesn’t (shouldn’t) matter with regards to the law.

My post wasn’t really about race, even though I used those identifiers.

I was simply trying to talk about putting myself in others shoes - to feel, what they feel. Or at least try. That’s it, that’s all.

If unarmed protestors surround my car on the street can I run over them?

If a black guy was running at a white cop with a knife and the cop shot him, there would be more street riots. I think its pretty obvious where the bias is.

Stop acting like this happened in a public street; she was part of a mob that was breaking through barriers in the f***in Captial building, being told to stop repeatedly. Yes she deserved what she got. And you know damn well if a BLM protest broke into the Captial building and one of them was shot trying to climb over a barrier you would 100% say they got what they deserved and should have done what she was told.

For god's sake stop arguing in bad faith.

That's all he's got.

Why? Statues aren't symbols of oppression, they're a symbol of history.

Sounds good dude! Kyle Rittenhouse statue it is!

I saw what some folks were posting about Breonna Taylor, so I certainly question whether the outrage would be as potent if we were dealing with different races.

If you go back and look at my post’s. You’ll see that I’ve answered that question already.

So there was nothing short of Deadly Force that would have stopped the "threat" she presented?

The universal conditions of deadly force are that it is used "...as a last resort, when all lesser means have failed, or cannot be reasonably employed."

So she "deserved what she got", because she was inside the U.S. Capitol building, climbing through a broken window, and not armed or presenting an imminent threat to anyone in front of her.

Hoss, I'm an LEO...21+ years...and there's no way I take that shot under those circumstances. Pigpile? Yes. Taser? Yes. OC Spray? Yes. Baton? Yes. Deadly Force? No.

If all that CP officer had on him was his firearm, then he should have went hands-on as she cleared the window. He had, what...another half dozen or so other officers behind him? Easy takedown.

"Deserved what she got"? Bu****it. She was executed by a coward with a gun and a badge. Call it what it is.

It's not purely conjecture to point out that Babbitt was trying to force her way into a restricted area of the Capitol while members of Congress were being evacuated from that same area. We just don't know what her intentions were if she had successfully breached the door.

This situation involved a mob of people who were acting in unison. The threat they posed was derived from their sheer numbers. Collectively, they had the ability to overrun Capitol security and law enforcement personnel without being armed, and then cause bodily harm to whichever member of Congress they came in contact with, or perhaps even Mike Pence - who was a primary target for the mob's anger that day. I have never said that it was okay to participate in mob violence.
If the threat is the sheer number of people then what good is shooting one going to do?
