Atlanta Braves II

So that's the first game I've been able to get down to in a long while, thanks to having two young kids. Are the crowds always that pathetic these days? By far the worst Braves crowd I've been in since the Chuck Tanner era.

I have two as well. No excuses!

That's pretty much a baseball crowd from any game nowadays outside of the mega markets.

I think it's just what happens on a weeknight after school starts back when there's not a pennant race going on to draw a crowd. Plus, the Marlins can't draw flies at home; much less on the road.

I was at a game a weekend game a couple of weeks ago and there were easily 35,000+ in the stadium.

Surprising news from Don Sutton. Says he sat in on bullpens for Hanson and Medlin and thinks both are good bets to be on the playoff roster.

Thank God for the Hanson news.

Medlen...I don't follow...at all. We got Vizcaino and Moylan. Then Teheran/Delgado. We don't need Medlen.

By the way, I'm just going to say this: Randall Delgado is going to be a star. He's Tommy Hanson that throws harder and has three average off speed pitches. If he masters one of them, he'll be a perenial all star. I see why Atlanta didn't want to trade. Oh, he's also our third best pitching prospect.

I know they are studs, but I'm not so sure about Teheran and Delgado coming out of the pen. That's an awful lot of rookies to throw into the fire during the postseason.

Rather have them than Medlen at this point.

And hot dog Alex Gonzalez! Maybe he just needed a weekend off. He's been on fire

I'd say they aren't going to activate Medlen unless he's looking extremely solid. The good news os that we're talking about the last guy in the pen who won't see action unless a game reaches the 13th inning.

I know Julio Teheran is supposed to be the greatest thing ever, but he's thrown 14 innings in the majors. Putting him on the postseason roster should be a last resort.

I can understand that. But I was just saying I'd rather see him or Delgado over Medlen this late in the year.

That sucks...can they be fixed before the postseason (If we make it)?

Hahaha. Playoffs? Playoffs? Your asking about the Braves making the playoffs?

No but seriously I will be shocked to see them make the playoffs. I will be floored if they win a game IF they do get in. jmo.

Depends on whether you can get Medlen in a few games and what he looks like. He's pitched almost 200 major league innings. No way I want Delgado and Teheran both on the postseason roster if I can possibly avoid it.
