That makes me feel better. Thank you, Boston, for your ability fail in ways that are so painful and enjoyable for everyone else to watch.

Only Boston and Chicago can have monumental documentaries made about their pain.

Great night for baseball. Even at Atlanta's expense.

I guess Boston has lost its collective Papelboner. That's not how you play for a contract.

Like I keep saying . . . you've got a point, but it's hard for me to get worked up about who was in the game in light of how completely fluky the game winning hit was.

And all I'm saying is that while the hit was a fluke, the fact that there were two guys on when it happened wasn't. You go with the guy who gives up a lot of baserunners, that's what you're asking for.

Oh, the guy that tied the game in the 9th for Tampa?

Batting .108 this year.

Vizcaino was in the bullpen. Why didn't we use him?

That's the bottom line. Baseball is almost purely a percentages game. Gut feels are worthless. You coach to expected values.

Can't argue with that logic at all.

The bottom line is that there were so many things that had to go wrong for this all to happen that I can't even begin to get my head around the suckitude that was just completed.

Still just a wow boston

still, anything that doesn't make the Atlanta Braves the larger, bold name under a bad record: at least a little bit of a moral victory

Didn't help we lost two of our best three starters six weeks before the playoffs.

That's why I'm not that upset. If JJ and Hanson were healthy, this wouldn't be an issue.

Fredi Gonzalez needs to be fired however.

Fully agreed with both points. The playoffs would have been a lock with the full rotation healthy.

Agree.

But, the Cards deserve it. They went 16-5 in their last 21. I just can say 100% that with Hanson/JJ healthy, we win the WC.
