Not even worth having the discussion. If he were in your farm system, you would slurp him endlessly. Don't understand the punk thing.

He's gonna get the LeBron 'do everything perfectly or you aren't any good' treatment a lot during his career, I have a feeling.

I love his passion for the game and how he gives 100%.

He believes he's the ****. Well guess what? He is. Dude was on the SI cover at 16. I want to see how people handle that.

That was good contact. I don't think Strasburg is loving throwing only fastballs. Heyward with hands extended is pretty.

Throws maybe the most casual 102 I've ever seen, though.

Dude just stop, you know he is a arrogant punk, get over it. I said the same thing about Schafer when he was coming up.

Anytime you blow kisses to opposing pitchers, endlessly admire home runs, talk about being like Joe Nameth off the field, act like a royal ass.. You're a punk. Pretty simple

The difference is that you can't even begin to compare Shaefer's ability to Harper. The only position player in MLB that you could even think about comparing to Harper was a young (pre-drugs) Josh Hamilton. When you have that much talent, work that hard, and succeed that much, you have a lot of confidence that borders on obnoxious and overly cocky.

Haters gonna hate, plain and simple. Hate on.

He isn't playing high school or college ball anymore. He was the sh*t. Hit 30 dings with 100 ribs in the show then you can blow kisses or hop scotch while whistling Dixie around the bases, until then stop acting like your Ty Cobb

There are plenty of gigantically cocky players in baseball, and all sports. Harper is simply under ten trillion microscopes, and people hate on him and cross their fingers hoping he fails. It's incredible, really.

LeBron treatment. I'm sure harper has learned to simply take it as a compliment.

I think the kid is great. Bright future, I think he will outgrow it and mature.. Just not a fan of how he gets off on showing others up. Not cool, doesn't matter who you are..

I'm cool with cocky..it takes a level of that to be successful in what they do. Blowing the kiss was probably too much, but I don't know the surrounding circumstances.

Don't embarrass Bryce with a lebron comparison. Bryce hasn't struck out 62 times in the WS yet.

And unless he sticks in CF or plays LF, I'll take Heyward..thanks.

As good as Heyward is/can be, I would take Harper over Heyward 100/100 times. Again, not a knock on Heyward; he has HOF potential. Harper is just that much more talented than everybody else.

The A-ball prodigy is a million times better than the guy who liked like Griffey in the big leagues at 20.. Get serious.

They'll probably have similar career trajectories. Flavor of the week/month/etc.

Lay off the hype machines. Heyward had just as much of it 2009-2010.

Thing is, he didn't have just as much. Best position player prospect of all time.
At their peaks, harper is far, far better. We'll see how he progresses.

Chipper Jones has had just an incredibly good life/baseball career. I'd like to be him.
