Bingo. I hope so too. And baseball is crazy game. A team can be world beater one day and garbage the next. Penthouse to the outhouse and vice versa. In reality we arent as bad as we've played the last 20 something odd games and we aren't as good as we played the first 15. Same for the Nats. At the season's end, it is going to come down to the Braves and Nats final month. Sept 16-18th in Washington is going to be huge.

Scotty, I just don't think you can "build" a team for the playoffs like the NBA. So many different types of teams have won the World Series.

I bet if you look back over the last 10 years and all the playoffs teams you'd find one thing in common with 80% of them. Good pitching and good defense or both.

If umpires would concentrate on where the pitch crosses the plate, framing wouldn't matter.

Also, umpires are human. Holbrook may have missed the pitch in the second video. It happens.

I should have clarified.

You can build a playoff team. You can't build a championship team. Like the Heat or the Lakers in the early 2000's, or even the Spurs. My argument that as long as their are not any major, major injuries, most teams in the baseball playoffs have the same chance as every other team.
