I agree Saban came to Bama after Bear's shadow faded and Dabo has a good playoff shot every year.

Dabo just makes much more sense than Kiffin. I just don't like coaches who seem to want to be the star, which is one reason I like Heupel. I like coaches who really like football. Kiffin really likes Lane Kiffin.

Right. Dabo and Kirby and about 3 other top names make more sense than Lane at Bama. But I’m saying I think they strike out on first and second tier guys because some don’t want to follow Saban. Kiffin has the ego where he doesn’t care about that and would love to be the one who breaks the normal history of flaming out following the guy who was the greatest of all time at that school.

I think he just likes pushing Kiffin’s buttons. For everybody who is always crowing about his Twitter action, that guy got under Lane’s skin pretty bad.

Why is that? It isn't uncommon.... And since Freeze is supposedly back from the dead career wise, he isn't the type to not be straight up with the guys who got him back into commodity business.....

Sounds like Kiffin to AU was in the bag and ultimately his children changed his decision. I respect that. Good luck Kiff.

Idk man. I don't think Kiffin was ever going. Maybe he talked thru Sexton to get a raise from Ole Miss, but his family has been very public on their liking Oxford... And Kiffin has talked more about his family publicly than he ever has. Auburn is a dumpster fire and he would be taking a 2 season step back to go there.

We’ll probably never know, and my opinion isn’t worth anymore than the next guy…but I think Kiffin wanted it. He was clearly touchy about the subject, as evidenced by his altercation with a no name reporter. He held off on his contract, and he left the door open with his team to leave. If I’m not mistaken, he and Freeze both share Jimmy Sexton, and I think Sexton kept him in the loop that they preferred Freeze. Tin foil hat stuff on my part, but I think Kiffin is off to Auburn if it was up to him. He seemed literally miserable all week and after the egg bowl.

Oh I get it. He coulda stopped it all by signing the 1 year extension. However, he will always have a 1 year extension on the table every single year. So at that point, it just gets to be a formality. It was pretty duchy that the reporter dropped that "Kiffin to Auburn IS happening"
