AU-Freeze, will it happen?

Oh of course. That’s why Bama would offer him greatest chance to prove if his style works or not.

At Ole Miss, he will never have a formidable defense to have those games where they can bail the offense out if needed. I’ve always thought it was odd how MSU can have a stout defense but Ole Miss for years has always had a thin and lightweight defense over multiple
Coaches.
I agree. I also don't trust Saban to tap Kiffin just so he can sit at the lake and secretly laugh at his failure.

I just don't see Kiffin being as good of a fit at Alabama as Dabo. Both are overrated as coaches but Dabo manages his program better AND has had more stability in his career.

There is nothing overrated about Dabo. He didn’t luck into 2 titles and 4 title game appearances…. He’s annoying as a speaker but he’s easily the second best coach in the country behind Saban

When his great assistants moved on, he fell off considerably. The thing Saban has done is reloaded player talent and coaching talent constantly for a decade+.

I'll agree Dabo may be the second best head coach in the country. I'll disagree that Kiffin has proven he's in the conversation. Ego kills careers.

Where did he say to his team it was possible he was leaving? Didn’t see that reported anywhere. Was that part of the team meeting this week?
It was reported that he told his team he planned on returning to Ole Miss unless something changed. No one disputes that is what he said.

He “fell off” for one season after losing his second straight “franchise QB” to the draft in Lawrence. They finally had a down year from QB and still won 10 games and are on pace to go 12-1…. That’s not exactly “falling off”…. He might not make playoff this year but not sure a down year of 10-3 is that terrible. It’s not like he’s somehow flopped from the national scene like say LSU/Coach O did or Jimbo has.

I mean that’s mighty different from saying he told his team he’s possibly leaving like he has one foot out the door already.

Regardless, this whole media spectacle from Starkville has been something. That reporter should be fired but won’t lol

I'm not saying he's Coach O, by any means. He's potentially the second best coach in college football but the gap to first is pretty big. Day at Ohio State is also a "machine guy" but I question his in game day decisions a little bit. I could see Saban making a call to him just to screw with Ohio State.

IMO, the Alabama job isn't a "showboat" job and Kiffin is a showboat. Saban will get his pick but I'm guessing he'll coach until Miss Terry, who might be the only person who can, tells him "That's enough."

I agree. I think Day is overrated.

Regarding Saban, I think he is only consulted on his replacement if Dabo and Kirby say no which they will. So once that happens, Saban picking his replacement could very well result in Kiffin as long as he continues to win 8-10 games a year there.

If the top candidates turn down the offers they will get to replace Nick Saban i wouldn't be shocked if they went the NFL assistant coach route.

I can see Kirby turning it down, for sure, but I'd think hard if I was Dabo. Being the tallest dog in a runt conference is great for his stats, but being a damn tall dog in the best conference is hard job to turn down.

Is this obsession like the gruden stuff? First is was an announcement Friday, now it's after the iron bowl, after that it'll be something else. No matter what he says it's a "smokescreen", only Tennessee fans really know the truth. All we need is itt woodchuck to chime in 🤣. @MIT_Beaver where you at?

If he hadn’t one multiple titles and been in even more title games, Incould see him considering it.

However, he’s built his own program and beat the greatest coach twice for a natty. Bama can’t offer him money that Clemson can’t. Recruiting may be better at Bama. But the route to the playoff gets tougher. All while living in the shadow of the guy you beat twice for a title
