AU-Freeze, will it happen?

Found this list to be thoroughly laughable from SI.

Auburn football coach hot board: Is Clemson's Dabo Swinney entering the mix? - Sports Illustrated Auburn Tigers News, Analysis and More

I cant find a single viable reason why anyone other than Freeze would consider Auburn.

They are in worse shape than we have been at this point.
Similar to their expectation concerning every recruit who visits. They can't comprehend someone liking something else better.

I think the Gumps will have a hard time pulling in any "big name" coach and still believe CLK would be crazy to take that job. Let someone else be the Shula then swoop in and take the reigns.

Probably Dabo

When Dabo and Kirby say no to the Bama job, they will panic. I assume Saban at that point will have a say in his successor. Kiffin at Bama would be dangerous as he is the one who revolutionized Saban’s philosophy on offense. Obviously Kiffin isn’t gonna hang Saban numbers but the sky would be the limit for him and I think he wouldn’t mind living in Saban’s shadow. Because whoever follows Saban will be living in his shadow until they won 3-4 titles.

The sky would be the limit if he just had another job besides the one he currently has…if he could just get better resources….if he could just get some NIL money…if he could just be at a place that recruits itself…if he could just…..
There are always so many ifs for Lane Kiffin to be the coach that some people think he is.

I mean you’re sorta dumb if you think he was gonna stay at FAU when Ole Miss came calling. You’re sorta dumb if you think he would stay at Ole Miss if a Bama or A&M or even a Florida came calling.

For being such an overrated coach as you say, he sure has lots of demand every offseason.

He has a lot of interest every offseason, but FAU and Ole Miss is were the offers he accepted. Your sorta dumb if you think that’s a coincidence.

Seems to me that after laying that egg against Arkansas, he’s gone and, knows it.
Reminds me of that Peach Bowl game against Virginia Tech. He (we) should not have lost that game!

I hope he goes to Auburn, and if he fails then can the college football world finally get over this guy?
The college football world isn’t the problem. I’ve posted this before on other threads, but from the tarmac firing to the FAU press conference, 64 FBS teams made coaching hires. That’s half of all FBS programs. He got one offer. So it’s not the college football world as a collective who love them some Lane Kiffin. As with most things in this world today, it’s a very small contingent who make a lot of noise. And if a meteor were to hit Knoxville, half of his supporters worldwide would be gone.
