Yes! It is usually Jimmy Sexton who starts this stuff.

In this case, Dabo wants out of Clemson. Bammer wants Dabo. Simply push Nick 'what have you done for us lately' Saban off the plank.

The Auburn angle just makes it more interesting.

Auburn will have to go to their B list if Alabama is looking for a new head football coach also.

Sexton may well have been behind the "Lane Kiffin is AU's top candidate" rumors also, hence Ole Miss has a fat contract bump on Kiffin's desk.

Sexton wins when these guys jump OR bump.

One of the surprising things Kiffin has talked about more publicly in recent years was his family life.

He constantly talks how his daughter in comfortable being in Oxford.... Easy to say Kiffin is same old nomad, but he has never talked how his family has been "settled" in a spot before his gig in Ole Miss.

I don't think it is a foregone conclusion he goes. I would also be shocked if Cohen has somehow wrestled control from the toxic donor base. With that said, the x factor for Auburn and Kiffin could be Bruce Pearl...... Which is ironic

Ole Miss (and Miss State) can only offer coaches 4 year contracts max. So the trade off is offering more money per year. He makes 7.5 million now. I wouldn't be shocked if Ole Miss went to the 10-12 million range. And if that is the case, why take a step down to Auburn for 2 years of rebuilding unless they were offering north of 15 million per year?

I'm surprised the Neon Dion to Auburn talk has cooled off.

Charles Barkley and Bo Jackson are pushing the Dion trade.

I prefer for Auburn to be strong and beat Bama / Georgia in routine fashion.

I'd forgotten about that. This could be a reason Ole Miss and MS State get a lot of coach turnover (other than Starksville being a dump and Oxford being in MS.)

I said it earlier in this thread about Kiffin, but it goes for anybody Auburn hires. If their new coach goes 10-2 for the first three years, they will be fired after year three.

Their boosters are the football teams worst enemy.
