Auburn/Cam Newton situation (merged)

That's pretty damning evidence, imo.

Clear cut proof that he received a 180k payment. NCAA will connect the dots if you ask me.

Latest news is that the NCAA is looking into a over due library book from jr high that Cam checked out!

Uh oh for the Barn, Newton will go onto the NFL and collect more money while Auburn and Chizik are left to deal with what has happened.

Chizik is making an absolute fool of himself by the degrees to which he is defending Newton

Boy O Boy,where there is smoke there is fire, Now we learn that a X-football coach at aUBURN who now owens a construction company was the one that remodel cam's daddy's church. Total cost $86,000. well there some of your $200,000 right their. Is starting to come together, little by little.

Auburn should really start considering their long-term future now, I don't see how they have any choice but to bench him. People are coming out of the wood work on this now.

Auburn is going to be in some big do-do.

Has a college football player ever had this much scandal surrounding him, only to later be cleared of all wrongdoing?

So here's what I am wondering...

Let's say this scandal continues to develop slowly over the next month or so but Auburn keeps playing Cam and winning with Newton looking his typical, awesome self.

Then, come Heisman time, there is still no definite fire, but an awful lot of smoke if you catch my drift...

So would this hurt Newton in the voting enough to cost him the trophy in the wake of the Reggie Bush debacle in the offseason?

I can see how an awful lot of voters would see (or think they could see) what was coming around the bend and prefer not to have a repeat.

LSU had one of these... his name was Ryan Perrilloux. Auburn better wise up very quickly and cut ties as soon as possible, no good is going to come from keeping someone like that. Sounds like he was paid to go to Auburn now through his father.

I have heard a lot of people on ESPN say they were still going to vote for him until he is proven guilty. Then I've also heard the other side of the spectrum too. I think its pretty split right now. JMO

Not going to end well for the barn. They'll get the USC treatment after this all ends. They should enjoy these last few wins, they're going to come with a price.

I'm just thankful Kiffin had enough sense not to pay.

Urban would have been all over this if Kiffin and UT picked up Cam, especially after some of the shots Kiffin took at Urban Meyer. I'm thankful too and it all makes sense now why Matt Simms was chosen.
