Auburn/Cam Newton situation (merged)

So here's what I am wondering...

Let's say this scandal continues to develop slowly over the next month or so but Auburn keeps playing Cam and winning with Newton looking his typical, awesome self.

Then, come Heisman time, there is still no definite fire, but an awful lot of smoke if you catch my drift...

So would this hurt Newton in the voting enough to cost him the trophy in the wake of the Reggie Bush debacle in the offseason?

I can see how an awful lot of voters would see (or think they could see) what was coming around the bend and prefer not to have a repeat.

With each bit of news that comes out, somebody else decides not to vote for him. Nobody wants to see a repeat of Reggie Bush

The rules such and are exploitation IMO, I realize the kids are getting an education and scholly but the revenue in versus the tuition out is ridiculously not proportionate....

Sane way it works in most businesses there buddy. I worked at a Big 4 accounting firm and the revenue I produced ($300 per hour x 60-70 hrs per week) was no where near what they paid me. If you don't grasp that concept you will inevitably struggle in the world of business.

auburn is so ****ed it isn't even funny. anyone got a link to an auburn board? i kind of would like to watch the meltdown.

If any of this is true it won't look good for any school that he has played at. Florida included. Could get interesting...

Sounds like guilt is about to be proven. ESPN says Miss St has recorded calls of Cam and his pops both saying that it will take alot more than a scholarship to get him to play for any school. Said money was what it was going to take. No link, heard on Mike and Mike this morning..

Whats comical is that Gregg Doyel is backing The Barn and saying its all MSU fault, LMAO.

We have a BBQ, and he throws the book at us, what a bald headed tool.

Talking about money and actually getting it are 2 totally different things, I will reserve my opinion until a fire is found....

Theres something new to this story everyday, IMO its just going to get worse for Cam and Auburn both!

The NCAA will drop the nuke on Auburn if any of this is true.[/QUOTE]

Didn't Auburn just come off probation not to long ago? If Auburn did pay him would the death penalty beconsidered?

Off probation means not on probation. So it probably doesn't count against them. Plus, you must be my age. "Not too long ago" is really like in the mid 90's i think? When Shorty was the coach?

Don't hate on Tiny Terry haha.

From all accounts, MSU refused the Newton's "offer".

How are they at fault for making those demands known?

Yeah, doesn't make any sense at all. So they are at fault for:

1.) not giving him the money

or

2.) for turning it over to the SEC

I think that guys is very confused.

it would be interesting to see when MSU reported this. i.e. was it before or after newton commited to auburn.

By my count, these are the current controversies:

1) Did Auburn give CN's Dad money for his church to lure him there?

2) Did Auburn give CN cash?

3) Did CN, or his father, use a third party to offer to go to MSU if MSU paid?

4) Did MSU rat CN out, or manufacture the claim in 3, for some reason, ie retaliate against CN for not going there?

5) Did someone at UF, Meyer or otherwise, leak a story to the media that the real reason CN left was because he was in an academic cheating scandal?

First, if there is one I'm missing, please let me know.

Seoc

Second, of those, the two that make the least sense are that MSU fabricated the payment demand scandal or that UF football has suddenly decided to expose CN's cheating. The reason I say those two is because I can't see the motive to either MSU or UF to do this. It just doesn't make any sense.
