This ^, it's not a business....at least it's not supposed to be and in a "business" the employees usually receive a salary / compensation, in addition to, bonuses or incentives.....using your logic the players or employees should receive due compensation for the "work" being done....thanks for proving my point!

Auburn is taking a huge risk by continuing to play Cam Newton
What's the risk? The damage, if there is any, has already been done.

They receive food, shelter, a college education, clothing (team gear), and access to national TV exposure on a weekly basis for those with pro potential.
Which of these things aren't "compensation for the work being done"?
Is there really any self punishment that will make for paying a recruit?
I would say it was suspect why Auburn played him even one game since they knew this investigation has been ongoing since January, basically they put the whole season in limbo.
I believe Auburn was probably told by Cam that no money was exchanged hands with MSU so there was no violation. The problem is now Auburn is part of the mix.
The coach for Auburn better wise up quickly.
To compare the 2 you have to make a lot of assumptions on the AU involvement.Sure is. I posted it earlier in the thread... an LSU player was found to be getting his apartment paid by a coach last year. HE WAS GETTING PAID. Bet you didn't even hear about it... know why, LSU did an investigation and got rid of both the player and coach. They sat the player on the bench then let him go after the investigation.
Now, if they had continue to play him knowing there is a good chance he was not eligible... it's all on the school. At this point, Auburn has no choice or they will get the super hammer IMHO.
The right thing to do is to pull him. To be honest, that kind of shows what conference he doesn't have in his team to be frank.
Since Auburn outbid everybody else, I don't think the MSU allegations matter that much. It only means that Auburn should have much larger concerns about its own conduct in this. Anybody surprised that a school in Alabama would be paying players?

As to the bold. At this point, (current) they would get hammered either way. The AA will not let it go because they sit him the last 2 games of the year and the post season.
The money trail should be interesting. Apparently the money from the church came from teh brother. I assume someone from auburn (booster or whatever) got it to him to give to his dad. if the brother refuses to submit financial records can the ncaa do anything?
