Bad Beats, Monster laydowns...Poker discussion

I swear I will not play with women at the table again. I just had a hand where the flop was KKQ with one k & the Q hearts. I was holding the J & 6 hearts. A lady and I ended up the last two after the River was another heart giving me the flush with the KQJ accounted for. She never once bet or raised even the first bets of only $25. I bet $1500, she called and had two ks giving her the 4 of right from the start.

I'm going to raise preflop with KK. However, I'm going to slow play quads EVERY SINGLE TIME! I want you to do what you just did. Jump in that hand with your flush.

BTW, were you on the on the blind? If not, why were you in the hand anyway? If you are one of those any two soooooted players.....:whistling:

she definitely did screw herself out of a lot of money. what a dolt!
I would have came right over the top all in when he made his $1500 bet.

Why not stay in J & 6 suited only $20 to call on blind. Then after flop had 4 hearts, everyone called or folded on $20 bet, her with 4 Ks. 4th card I bet $40 to test the water, all folded except her. You wouldn't stay in that situation? Plus I just seem to have good luck filling flushes & straights.

I think there is a distinction here. If you have four Kings at the flop and don't bet them at least $50 - $100 you are going to waste an opportunity for a large pot. She never bet or raised, only called. I would have raised my $1500 bet as well, all I could have was a flush. There were eight players so she could have built up a substantial pot.

it could go either way. way too easy to run people off that way. she might have gotten more money from you, but she would have more than likely ran the rest off. i would have slowplayed them myself. let everyone else think they got a little something then swoop in. haha

playing 2-5 limit cash game at the casino Friday night (max bet is $5 here in CO, until they change it in July). Anyway, family pot with like 8 people in until I raise from the BB with AQ suited....a few people drop out, then this other guy raises and the guy behind him raises and gets called by two others. I fold and someone else behind me calls. Original re-raiser of my raise bumps it again. Granted, these are just $5 raises, but eventually it gets capped at like $30. At the end of the hand, the original re-raiser wins the pot with trip 4s, all the while holding 46 suited. He spent $30 pre-flop on that garbage. What a douche! Just glad I wasn't in the hand with him. By the end of the night though, I had raked in a $300 profit.

500-1000. I hold K-J, small blind, 3 hands left. Big is all in with his blind. Gun raises to 2000, I call.

Flop K-6-J. Check in the dark. Gun bets 1000, I gently call.

River A. I bet 2000, Gun goes all in. I call.

Gun shows K-8.

Just for kicks, the river is another J. Jacks full of Kings, and the big win. Good night!

If you play poker and you play hands like 2-7 off or 3-8 of clubs do all of us a favor and quit playing....find another hobby...your suck-outs are killing the game.:the_finger:

I have a buddy who plays junk hands exclusively.

His reasoning is, you never know what he may have.

Also, quit whining on an internet message board.

It is okay every once in a while to play garbage to mix up your game, but to do it constantly is the ultimate amount of disrespect for the game.
You say I'm "whining" but the fact is you are one of the biggest whiners on this site.I have heard you bitch and moan ever since I've been on here.

People with jobs don't have time to whine:moon2::the_finger::neener:

You know, after saying all of this we will play one day and I will play 2-4 of spades and suck out with a straight flush!

It will happen!

2-4 of spades is actually not a bad starting hand as long as there's not a hefty raise before it's time for you to act.

You would be correct...but at least I play the game right and respect it.
But the fact is that if there was no luck involved I would win most hands based on skill.

the point of a game is to win. You keep claiming to be morally superior in a game that revolves around lying to your opponent and you'll keep losing. Either that or learn to get them out of the hand from the beginning

You obviously have no understanding of the level of ethics that goes on in a poker game, ask any pro about players that start with crummy hands and they will tell you the person doesn't even deserve to play the game.
You are correct in the lying department, but there is a time and certain situations when a bluff is used...you should really study about the game of poker before you try to give your opinion to someone who is far more knowledgeable of the game than yourself.

Luck is far more valuable in poker than so called skill. Just ask that so called expert who whines like a little girl every time he gets his butt whipped by an "amateur"..
