Hard to believe you are doing so well after seeing how you play in the online games we used to have. :p

true, that's why I cut back and finally stopped the oline games...I was playing way to many hands, and and not being patient...

Boom. Congrats. I'm pissed my buddy's poker night has fallen apart. Can't wait to go back to Vegas in June.

I really miss have a friendly little cash game around. The last time I lived in Knoxville, there was a group of 6 of us that played pretty much every week with a $20 buy in.

I do not have that kind of friend network here (nor the time to cultivate one).
sad trombone

Just go out to the bar and ask random dudes if they have a poker night. Then invite yourself to one. Then be on your best behavior, let them win, and befriend them.

tonight is the final table, winner goes to the World Series of Poker

I'm first in chips at $65,000
The second seeded player is at $60,000 (Vandy grad)
then the other 7 players are between 30,000 and 20,000 in chips..

welll I wont be going to Vegas
had two hands that basically took me out

trip Kings with a 6 kicker and the other player had trip kings and a queen kicker
then the hand that took me out was, i had pocket kings
2, 5, 7 flopped
so I went all in
the second player had pocket 7's, so he took me out with Trip 7's

he ended up winning the total tournament, he's also the Vandy grad

Had a coworker who used to go to vegas every year for the world series. I never thought i had the memory the count cards that high to get into. he loves it though.

that seems to be the way new people get into poker unless you live in a state with lots of Indian Gaming.

i don't think it's so much counting cards in poker as it is playing your hand and the abilty to read the other players ..

the first beat I had was the worse because I never considered he had hiigher kicker because he plays so loose that I thought he was waiting on an ace on the river

the second one that put me out, I should have known he had a set, becuase he never bets alot and plays very tight, but I couldn't lay down pocket kings when it was the high pair

oh well, that's poker nbd why I work for a living vs playing cards

Those are tough hands

Those are tough hands

yep..
I'm over it now...I would really have liked to win, and go to Vegas, but it's probably better given the timing of my relo from Il, and move to NWA..
I will just be starting a new job, and would go in a month laser and take a week off to go to Vegas to play in the WSOP..

Yeah, that is a tough sell to a new boss.

Harrah's in Cherokee is shooting for early July for going live with live dealers. They cleared all the hurdles with the state last month.

Awesome news, if you any info please posts updates! When this happens, I'll be making trip every 3-4 weeks.

Great news, I too will be making a few trips. Hope they can get craps. Learned how to play on last Vegas trip and I'm now addicted.

Ugh! Playing online last night and this total douche got lucky against me. Pocket AA, raised the pot pre-flop. Two callers. Flop comes 10,2,6, I put in enough to put one of the two all-in. One folds, the other calls with pocket 55? Guess what lands on the turn. Yep, a 5!!! I'm sure everyone has stories like this, but what the hell was that idiot calling for? He couldn't have really thought his 5's were good. I'm not bluffing off that many chips and the only thing he could have thought was that I had a pair of 2's, 3's or 4's. Not likely.

PRE FLOP ALL LUCK.:bash:

LOL

In an online tourney. Just made the final table on a great hand.

I'm on the button with QQ and the pot is raised to me. There's a caller in between and then I reraise. First guy pushes all in and the caller and I both call.

At this point, I'm 2nd in chips, and the other guy that pushed first is chip leader. I don't even recall what the third guy had, but he was about 1/3 our stack.

So back to the hand, when we all turn over, I'm at QQ, and they're both at JJ. Haha, they basically had zero outs.

The crap that happens in online poker is unbelievable. Things that you never see in live poker.

Oh one other thing, they actually did get a straight draw after the turn, but they needed the Q to complete it, and I was holding 2 of them.
