Baltimore Unrest

The sad part about all this is the actual protestors have now lost the moral high ground. People will only remember the destruction.

In reality, they never had the high ground.

Even though I do believe that cops are overzealous in their enforcement of petty crimes, this guy still didn't seem to stay out of the way of encounters with these cops. It would be far easier to have the high ground if we were talking about a father of 2 that was being harassed as he was coming home from work. Instead, we get Freddie Gray.

Should there be peace in a place where those that are responsible for keeping the peace are beating, maiming, and killing those they are sworn to protect?

Was the people burning and looting actually hurt by the police or is this an great opprunith to steal or destroy other people's property.. Is that fair to the business owners and people that live in that area?

Indeed, the governments response to the theft of Oreo's, Colt 45 and Kool's should be lethal. Totally reasonable.

A more violent response is just what's needed to defuse a situation that was built on a sense of unreasonable violence.

It worked in New Orleans after the hurricanes and even in the 60s on the hippies --- burning down stores and trashing cars, is a little more than stealing cookies

It's a sad day when that seems to be the only thing that works. Police brutally is nothing new in Baltimore. Between 2011 and 2015 the government has paid out about $5.7 million to victims of police brutality. Numerous protests. Numerous investigations. Zero change.

As much as it pains me to say it, it's beginning to look like rioting is the only way to get real change here.

worked out so well for them the last time they did it...

Do you shoot the looters or the finders or both?

Still break ins and burglaries occurring but for the most part major violence is over for now this morning. There are reports making their way around on social media saying they plan to kick it off again at 2pm at a Wells Fargo and other places at 3:30pm.

You specifically called for the NG to shoot "looters and vandals", placing human life on a lower plane than that of replaceable objects. You're a terrible arm chair quarter back and your "solution" speaks volumes about your character.

It's disgusting what these thugs are doing but the solution isn't more killing...

To the mom who whipped her son back into reality and the gentleman named Robert Valentine. Kudos to you both.
